Display "awakes" while in pocket.

Since the last update whenever I close my phone and put it in my pocket the screen will activate and begin beeping as I walk. This did not happen before. I've checked the settings and see nothing which I think would cause this behavior. Any ideas?
Thanks.
Wow weird because I can't even force my screen on if its dark or light sensor is blocked. you may want to check "smart lock" under "lock screen",there is something called "On body detection". Although I don't get the beeping part unless an app is waking the phone.

its a smart lock feature so you may find it somewhere in there.
Hey, frosthax1, thanks, you woke me up. Obviously, I'm not a very sophisticated user, so require some pretty simple hand-holding. I managed to wend my way through the smart lock setup and determined the following:
On Body Detection was set to 'No;' I have no Trusted places or devices set up and, heaven forbid, no facial recognition. My Trusted Voice setup is for 'OK Google' anytime but OK Google is not set to unlock the device.
So...I'm thinking this isn't the root cause of my "awakening" phone.
I really appreciate all you guy's support and willingness to help.
Thanks,

Very interesting observation.
I've noticed funny things happen between the way Chrome and other browsers do things. For example, when responding to comments on some media commentary sites I've noticed that the comment section of the browser page will not scroll in Chrome, but will in Foxfire and Edge. Not convenient at all but I'm certainly not willing to go down that rabbit hole.
Would not be surprised at all to find something going on in such an area.
Thanks.

Some devices have Motion Launch Gestures now. I can set my HTC M9 to wake-up with a swipe up, swipe left, swipe right or a combination of all three. It may be worth checking if you have the same and whether one or more is enabled.

I have a flip case which avoids it happening accidentally when I put mine in my pocket.

this phone doesn't come with that option but it was a good thought.usually a phone doesn't stay awake unless something was triggered on.by default the delay sleeper time works

It might be due to the double tap screen awake function which is standard in all lg roms at this point.

I've personally had this issue before when I first bought my phone, not I just deactivate it depending on the days phone use.

I'm also going with this because I use chrome exclusively and the only time I've had it break a wakelock was when one of those full screen adverts decides to pop up.

This is just a guess, but this phone has double tap to wake. That could be it if the phone screen bounces against your leg.

I've noticed the symptom lately, no double tap, no body closeness sensor, not notification waiting..nothing..but it does when my phone is sitting in my end table while is changing and me, far away from it..still haven't tried to hammer the root of that issue..but yes..I don't know if is a last update..but isn't an old problem

I occasionally have that problem too I do believe it's because the LG's have a capacitance detecting screen so many things can activate the screen try laying or wire across the screen it's just like putting your finger on it and a raindrop on the screen is like holding your finger down) but on my LG Stylo 2 plus the knock feature has a pattern memory also so you can do a specific pattern instead of just a regular double tap mine is time-sensitive also

I'm convinced it's the double tap wake up capability you mention. Thanks for your help.
