LOTS of Issues Recently

I have been having a ton of issues with this phone recently. Got it when it first came out, after trading in my Galaxy Note 7 (RIP). Liked it at first, then started to really love it as time went on. The 2nd screen has proven to be extremely useful.
But now...
The 2nd screen gets stuck on the "Connected to (X device)" bluetooth notification. Gmail notifications come very, very late, if at all. Text messages sometimes get dropped and I regularly get "Can't get MMS" messages in Textra. Some days battery life is quite good, some days (with more or less the same usage) battery dies by 4pm. The thing lags regularly. Drops and reconnects to strong, close wifi signal regularly. Sometimes the camera shutter lags by about 2 seconds.
I'm on Verizon and have the latest software update.
Is anybody else having any (or a combination) of these problems? I'm kind of stuck with the phone until it's paid off, which won't be until next year. It's pretty frustrating.

I had same issues, but not with Textra. Have mine sat to system for mms not legacy. The other issues, finally broke down and did a factory reset. Now so far so good.
I've rebooted the phone about a million times, but the issues keep coming up. I've read somewhere that actually removing the battery for a few minutes can help.
For a factory reset, did you have to download/install/configure/login everything again? That's kind of my last resort because it seems like a huge pain, but it's certainly an option if things keep going the way they have been recently.

Yep, it's like your setting up your phone all over again. I hate it, but finally gave in. Took me like 5 hours to get where I was before. I tried it all, like you. Verizon told me with all the trouble shooting they recommend a factory reset. That has to be done if we want to use the warranty, if factory reset doesn't work. Sometimes the updates get buggy and that also takes care of them

I regularly factory reset my phone once a month. Never an issue. Backup your documents, messages, music, bookmarks, and games on external SD or the cloud. If you're using Google and the play store, everything will be redownload.
Super backup pro is what I use.
My phone never lags and always runs like new.

I always have my contacts, pics, music and documents on SD card and OneDrive. The apps are backed up, most come from google playstore. With the exception of LG Smartworld, which I reinstall with the shortcut app.

Is there a way to back up to an external hard drive? I have a 1TB HD that I'd like to use as a backup before factory resetting the phone.

years ago I bit a bullet and bought a NAS box. Network Attached Storage. mini server device with 2 HD's and connects to my router/switch. it takes all of 35 watts or less (often less) and it keeps 2 copies of everything it has.

I setup my phone to push stuff to the box when I'm at home, on wifi, plugged in, overnight. (tasker)

If I have to factory Reset my phone - should be easy. when I had my samsung note 3 I factory reset that in under an hour. Got a malicious app that merfed it up. sadly easy to do.

Phones don't usually have enough power to run/spin a USB hard drive via OTG, unless the drive has an auxiliary power source. Should be able to backup to a large enough capacity USB thumb drive though via OTG.

I got my verizon LG V20 last week from Texas to Nigeria where I reside, everything is going on well except for get issues. I can't use the schedule sending message option, I was told its only the verizon instant message app that I can use. I tried using that, "sending message was disabled".... I couldn't send text messages, I've beenusing the normal LG message +, no option for schedule sending. Secondly when I tap "check for update status, I don't get to see if I'm on android 7 nougat or android 8 Oreo.
For now that's my only issue, other than that, the experience has been awesome.
