Note 8 is official...what do you think?

The Galaxy Note 8 is finally official. Nothing out of the ordinary happened at the event. The leaks kinda ruined the surprise, as usual. What do you guys think about it now? Are you going to buy it?
IM PASSING.not financially viable, for nearly 1000. more ram good spen maybe, extra zoom maybe. for those who held out its worth it, for others like me, tired burning bucks every 4 months OUT OF POCKET.

I've always had the Samsung note and really don't want any other phone. However I hate the curved screens. If the note 8 only comes with the curved screen. They can keep it. I'll just have to get another note 5. I just don't get the curved screens. They are so hard to hold and when you put a case on them. It just wont stay on. What a shame. Terrible design.

It sounds like you won't be buying another Note, or Samsung flagship of any sort, in the foreseeable future. If you leave out the niche Galaxy S Active devices (which seem to be made for 1 carrier in 1 country) their last flat-screened flagship was the smaller S7, 18 months ago. This is the second curved Note in a row, and as the S8 has been outselling the S7 it's unlikely we'll see a flat-screened Samsung flagship next year either.

Well, we're talking about what is essentially a computer you can put in your pocket. I'll be calling Samsung back when they open in the morning to find out if there is a specific discount or promotion for those of us who went through the Note 7 recall. Especially those of us who went through BOTH recalls. I'll keep you posted!

I'll be passing. Even if I wasn't a Moto guy first and foremost, I've heard that the Samsung skin over Android is a very in depth skin and I prefer more of a stock experience. Also I think much of the device is overkill, I mean just how much RAM and onboard memory does one need? The screen size at 6+ inches diagonally makes it absurdly large and at approaching one-thousand dollars I just can't afford it. I work in an industry that has a lot of contact with the public, hence we have a lost and found drawer. I've got enough IPhones in my lost and found drawer to open a mall kiosk. I remember the week the S8 was introduced, sure enough one showed up in my lost and found drawer. It was gone the next day so presumably the guy came back for it, but I couldn't imagine paying one-thousand dollars for a phone and then damaging or losing it...
