One of the great features of Android phones, especially Samsung phones, is the ability to change launchers, themes, icons, wallpaper, and apps. I think it will be interesting if we share what we've done with our Note 8s. Here's mine:

Launcher: Nova Prime. I love the ability it gives me to change the look and feel of my phone.
Current Theme: Material Black (Anup Rode) from the Theme Store
Current Icons: DCikonZ Theme and Icon Pack from Google Play
Current Wallpaper: Shadow Galaxy from Google Play
Default Apps:
Browser: Chrome
Calling: True Phone
Messaging: Textra

BTW, if you use Nova Launcher there is a trick to installing icons from the Samsung Theme Store (thanks to the folks at TeslaCoil Software). You have to apply the icon pack from within TouchWiz, then switch back to Nova and go to Nova Settings -> Look & Feel -> Icon Theme -> and select System.

I installed the Small Galaxy live wallpaper from Samsung themes and it's absolutely mesmerizing. In fact, I have a blank home screen just so I can stare at it...
I'm almost 80 and if folks catch me talking to my device and staring at a blank screen they'll put me in an old folks home.

Sorry, but I'm a bit confused. Is it possible to have a Wallpaper and Theme independently? I thought that a Theme always included the Wallpaper and sometimes the icon pack. I believe I need straightening out, if someone would be so kind...

Yes you can use a wallpaper independent of a theme. Just select and apply your theme. Then select and apply your wallpaper. Very simple.

Yes, as @bukifvr pointed out, you can apply a theme and then apply another wallpaper and icon pack. For example, I like a lot of things about the Material Black theme, such as the colorful way it displays the Settings menu (see my initial post). However, I don't care for the theme's wallpaper and I often change wallpapers (I'm currently using the Shadow Galaxy wallpaper which @The_Chief discovered). I also have my favorite icon pack (DCikonZ) which I use with whatever theme I'm using at the time.

Speaking of themes and such, a couple themes I've used and tried don't show the cool 3d looking text for the clock on the lock screen. It just shows an ugly white text version. Is this something that's typical? Does the note8 lock screen work differently than the older screens, and possibly be that the themes need to be updated by their devs?

Also, I always wanted to make my own theme, but that seems next to impossible. I tried to sign up and apply, but samsung wants previous work experience which I don't have, so they denied me. I don't necessarily want to make a theme to sell on the store, I just want to do it for my own phone. I have dabbed a bit with design back in the day doing websites, and even have created several watch faces for my Gear S3 smartwatch, so I think it would be fun to tweak the themes on my phone, but I haven't figured out how to get around the dev requirements yet.

We Willy,
I want that wear ther widget. I use nova launcher. Can you kindly let me know how you got that?

And I see you installed the galaxy wall paper.

Is it animated? "Infinity display" friendly?

The weather widget is "Transparent clock & weather" by MACHAPP Software from Google Play.
Yes, the Shadow Galaxy wallpaper from Google Play is animated and "Infinity Display" friendly.

You can change the wallpaper anytime regardless of theme by long pressing the home screen to pop up the home menu then choose wallpapers to change your home or lock screen wallpaper.
