I need a call recorder app that will record both sides of a call on Galaxy Note 8. I have tried 9 apps and none of them will record both sides of a conversation. Three of them will not even open on a Note 8.

Please list any apps that have worked for you recording both sides of the conversation on Note 8 and the settings.

I used that app successfully on my Galaxy S5, however haven't been able to get it to work on Note 8 phone. What settings did you use please?

i am having similar issue.
i used call recorder pro on my old note 4, but doesnt work consistently on my note 8.
it always records my voice, but only records the other part maybe 40% of the time.

also tried around 10 other call recorder products, including ACR and boldbeast.
all exactly the same.
seems to be a note 8 issue.

I contacted the App Developer Appliqato regarding Automatic Call Recorder and they sent me an update and were very responsive and helpful. support@appliqato.com

I'm glad you had good luck with appliqato support.
i have im the past.
last time i swapped phones, the the app seemed to hit a bug with the oud backup - the only way tp transfer saved calls since they dont allow you to just dp file copies. i stopped mid stream and contact support before continuing, but no response. i even negotiated several extra we3ks in which to return the old phone to verizon, just so i cpukd get assistance from appliqato. over the several.week period, i probably put in a half dozen requests begging a response and direction from appliqato, but finally gave up. the result was that not only didnt the cloud process copy over my saved calls, but it refreshed my old device purging them from there too.

this was on the paid "pro" call recorder

so at this point, i would not expect support from that company and believe i am on my own witj respect to the recording issue, especially since all call recorders i tried behaved exactly the same, suggesting an android or samsung issue, not the app. so if appliqato wouldn't lift a finger to even respond to an issie that was clearly an app bug, i certainly don't expect them to help with an issue that is likely not an app problem...

sorry, i get a bit emotional and angry thinking about appliqato "support". :(

Could be because no third-party has worked out how to do successful call recording with the Note8 yet, I presume it's running latest version Android, 8.x Oreo. And the apparent difficulty is capturing/recording both sides of a conversation.

I think depending on jurisdiction, country and/or region, some Note8 variants have call recording as standard in their stock phone app, e.g. the Chinese versions. Because there's no legal restrictions on recording phone calls in the PRC, so most Android devices here can record calls as standard. That's the way it's often been with Samsung phones, and their many regional and/or country variants.

i would like to add that i had a similar issue 3 years ago when we got new note 4's.
then in s later os update, the call recording problem magically went away.

so i assume it's similar here, and hope that a new os release will resolve the issue.
the thing that's so odd here is that its inconsistent.
sometimes it works, sometimes not.
...snd makes no difference if incoming or outgoing call, nor how you configure the csll recorder... played with every considerable variable, and no difference in behavior.

'Call recorder' works great on my note 8 when recording strategy is set to voice call. Then both sides of conversation record equally well

Well, I'll put in my recommendation...
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.boldbeast.recorder

It's called Bold Beast and it's made by BOLDBEAST Software Inc.. I just installed it when I got the Note *..and..wham!!! it worked. I had it on my Note $ and then on my Edge7. Both of those took a little bit of settings changes but not the Note 8 works great all the time.

Samsung Galaxy Note8 has a builtin call recorder. But Samsung has disabled it via CSCFeature:

The cscfeature that turns it on is:
<CscFeature_VoiceCall_ConfigRecording>RecordingAll owed</CscFeature_VoiceCall_ConfigRecording>

Sad part is that to edit it, you need to root the phone. (if someone has an easier way do let me know)

When using third party apps, you will need to disable Bixby and OK Google to get the third party apps to record correctly.

My phone is rooted.
OK Google - is disabled
Bixby is workink only by Bixby key press
there is no folder system/csc/

there is no folder system/csc/

Go to
>rootFolder>system>csc>others.xml

You cannot view the System folder using the Samsung MyFiles (based on my experience). You will need to use a third party File explorer.

Edit that others.xml and add/edit the line to that file in same level as the other <CSCFeature...>
<CscFeature_VoiceCall_ConfigRecording>RecordingAll owed</CscFeature_VoiceCall_ConfigRecording>

You will then get the Record button in the call screen.
