i hear a lot about many different conspiracies.. and some have arguable points. It is fun just to hear about them..
i keep an open mind and see everyone's point of view. "how they might see it that way".

but Flat-Earth is just plain stupid!!!!
how do they ignore so much evidence.. or create things in their mind's eye.

is that the flat Earth is surrounded by Antarctica. And the edges are controlled by the government so that no one will see it.

2. rent a jet, and fly it in only 1 direction
3. time zones.. i am sure he has friends in many countries (time zones). Call them and ask for time and daylight? how can some have daylight and some night?

I don't know how they would really explain away a curved horizon. If you stand on a fourteener like Mt Evans or Pikes Peak, you can see the curvature.

From a plane - I'd think they had their noses buried in some kind of entertainment and nothing for the mind never mind look out the window.

Actually even ardent creationists I've met have never held that the Earth is flat. Maybe you have a different type in the US? I've always assumed it was just some particularly contrarian conspiracy theory mindset behind it (though I've never met anyone in real life who subscribes to that belief anyway).

Do flat Earth types not use GPS though? Because satellites won't orbit a flat plane very easily. Or do they assume it works on ley lines and that the stuff about satellites is just a story made up by "the government" or whoever is supposed to be lying for unfathomable reasons?

BTW the ancient Greeks knew the world was a sphere, and contrary to popular myth so did Europeans in the middle ages. The reason people thought Columbus was doomed was not because they thought he'd sail off the edge, but because they thought he'd run out of supplies before he got to India - and if the Americas hadn't been in the way they would have been right.

They also believe the earth is only 6000+ years old. Some Scottish preacher in the 18th century arrived at that figure by studying the "begats" from the time man appeared.

Nothing around to measure it by except man.

Man only appeared in the last second on the last day of December if you use the year as a guide to earth events.

Though dinosaurs definitely do appear in the Bible: doves appear in both old and new testaments, for example (the question of whether you should refer to birds as dinosaurs is pretty settled in scientific circles these days).

Though I always find it ironic that one of the older sub-classifications within the dinosauria was between "bird-hipped" and "lizard-hipped", since birds, as a subclass of therapods, would belong to the "lizard-hipped" group. I guess that's what happens when you name things before you have all of the information...
