Help HTC U11 - Double clicking power button launches camera and Sense Home

Hi,

I'm having issues where double clicking the power button launches Sense Home along with the camera.

When I double click the power button, the camera launches as expected, then dims a bit, and becomes bright again. I thought this was odd, so i checked what apps were open, and it was just the camera app, and Sense Home.
I closed both, and tried again. Same thing.

I tried turning off the "double click power button to launch camera" setting, and tried double clicking the power button. This will actually take me to my home screen if I'm on my blink feed or any of my other panels.
When I double click the power button while I'm on any other app, the screen flashes blank, and the sense home shows up in the open apps, similar to the camera launch.

So basically, it looks like double clicking the power button already has a default setting which is supposed to take you back to your home screen, but fails to do so, and launches the function as an app in the background.

Is there any way to turn this function off? Is it a known bug/issue?

Launching the camera from the camera app works fine, but I'd rather double click the power button for quick access, and the additional Sense Home launching slows down the camera launch.

Android Version: 7.1.1
Software number: 1.19.762.1
Carrier: Softbank (japan)

Thanks in advance!

Sense home is the launcher (i.e. the app that provides your desktops and app drawer). I'd expect that to be running anyway, and I'd expect it to restart if you stop it, so it's not obvious to me that this has anything to do with the power button.

Thanks for the reply.
It does seem to have to do with launching the camera via the power button.
If I launching the app by tapping the camera app, then I don't get the issue where the camera dims and un-dims, nor do I ever see the Sense Home app in the open apps like I do when launching via power button (pic attached)

UPDATE: I've tried enabling the function that allows the camera to launch when swiping downward twice on a locked blank screen, and it seems to have the same issue here.
Looks like, as you said, it's not strictly the power button that's the issue, but launching the camera via functions that are not the camera icon.
However, it doesn't do it when launching the camera via edge sense.
Not sure what the underlying issue is here :/

Maybe this can help - Check for an update!
My U11 - Android 7.1.1
Security Patch
Aug 1 2017
Software Number
1.28.617.6

Hmm looks like I'm only able to update to 1.20.762.2
Japan tends to be slower with the updates I think.

Still having the issue though.
