Help [VZW] Unlocked N8 voicemail options?

Hey guys. I have an unlocked N8 that I'm going to use on Verizon. Unfortunately, I can't use Verizon Visual Voicemail, which I really like. I just want a simple app that I can see who left a message and be able to click on the message to play it. I don't need speech to text or anything. I've used Google Voice before, but it was a pain to set up (at least it was for me). Are there any other simple options out there? Thanks for any ideas!

You can go into the dialer and long press on number 1 that should bring up ur voicemail

Or see if your carrier has a voicemail app

if you don't care for visual voicemail, then what do you want?

the carrier has standard voicemail, so when you setup your phone to check messages, it will dial into your voicemail box.

if you want an app to click on that will show you who left a voicemail, that's a part of visual voice mail. if there was a way for a 3rd party app to utilize this whilst not having to pay for visual voicemail, everyone would be using it.

Or you can download google voice and use their voicemail service. Just a thought.

Thanks for the reply. But to clarify, I'm asking about apps that show on the screen who (or what number) called and allow me to play the message there rather than dialing into my voicemail. I'm on Verizon, but I can't use their visual voicemail because my phone is unlocked.

I wrote that I DO like visual voicemail (not I don't care for it) and am looking for a replacement because I can't use visual voicemail on Verizon with an unlocked phone. My Verizon visual voicemail was free, though I believe there is also a pay version. That said, there is at least one app that does what I'm asking -- Google Voice -- I'm simply asking if there are others, preferably one with a simpler setup. But thanks for the reply.

Agree only takes minutes to setup and works seamlessly

Before visual voicemail came along, I used it and it worked fine. I just found it difficult to set up, but I'll dive back in today and see if I can get it set up again. Thanks for the reply!

I just went back to Google Voice. It's not the most intuitive setup, but once it's running, it works fine. Thanks for the responses.

Yeah, it's still kinda clunky all these years later but I like all it can do so...

You should try Youmail Visual VM..it's fun, free and easy..who says there's not more out there??..lol
