Too many superhero movies out there now

It's becoming a bit crazy with the insane amount of superhero movies, shows and prequels there are of X, Y and Z heroes. The other day I visited a theater to see if there were any movies worth watching but it was just superhero stuff.
Even the new magnificent Blade Runner apparently didn't do too well so you know what that means.

I've noticed that movies seem to go through themes, where a batch of them get released with the same basic idea.
But I feel like 99% of the time I've wasted 2 hours of my life watching the latest over hyped blockbuster.
That's one of the main reasons why I hardly ever go to the theater anymore. It's just the same soup, warmed over (so-to-speak).

If something major, like a new Star Wars movie, comes out, that's a different story.

Next time I get over to the UK I'll have to stop by and educate your Mrs.

While the movies in general for Star Wars tend to be longer there are only 11 of them including the upcoming unreleased Han Solo side story.

Star Trek, on the other hand, there have been 13 feature films, plus six television series from 1966 to present day encompassing 5 centuries (in the storylines) and 701 episodes.

Breaking down by time assuming the average Star Wars film lasts 160~190 minutes and the average Star Trek Film is around 110 minutes, to watch the Star Wars Saga in its entirety would take approximate 30 hours. To cover the Star Trek franchise would take over 600 hours!!!

And, by the time I finished explaining that to her, I would have become a charter member of the "never invite him back" club. ;) :D

Don't worry, I'm working on it. Have requested the entire TNG set for my birthday.

C'mon guys! ... don't waste your money's on such gibbirsh! XD

Rather build your empire gentlemen! :D

Hahahaha lol I kid I kid I kid :D

I love rick and morty and a few old classics here and there b going to the movies? ... err I would rather just live stream so when I am sitting at home vegatating I can try and unwind a bit from such a hectic day of work.

But yeah star wars is alway awesome! Epic theme in general it's like space fantasy mixed.

I will always love Dart Vader... I feel for him man being abused and all that it can be tough crushing people's skulls in I know how he feels now... being bad is not easy! XD

He (Vader) needs to get that COPD looked at...(surely the Empire's healthare should cover that, right?)

Just sayin'...

:p

He tried, but according the VDA (Villians with Disabilities Act) his meds weren't covered by his government plan. He could always just buy them from Canada like everyone else.

I watch some superhero shows but some don't even feel very superhero-y.
Lucifer - drama, cop show.
The Flash - teen drama (and corny sometimes)
Daredevil - Badass action superhero show
I, Zombie - teen drama with a twist of normalizing zombies
Legion - A guy with mind powers
Preacher - Ain't need to say nothing. 😜
Supernatural - Two brothers that keep fighting demons and have infinite money and internet wherever they go. lol

I haven't been to the movie theaters since like 10 years ago every since I got my dog..she already passed just recently and I still don't go..one time like two years ago I tried to go and their sits smell so so so so so bad that I couldn't sit..never went back..

When ever is something worth to watch I just download it..but now a days the only thing good the big screen produces is The Drama..that's that.

True enough. One of the most popular shows right now is about the kind of people who make the superhero movies so popular in the first place.

But, @LV426 is right, they go in cycles.

War movies
Westerns
Outer Space/Alien
Love Stories/Romance (EEEeeeewwww!) ;)
Horror
Action/adventure
and, of course, Superhero, fantasy.

you forgot .. remakes / reboots

those are pretty good movies...

but i do have a complaint about that spiderman... he sucks!
Peter Parker is a smart man.. and fast thinker.. Leader..
this one is just a teen.. confused and lost.. feeling his way around. just lucky SOB!
