Help (Help) Note Edge- Bootloop after stock firmware flash

Hi everyone.

Got Note Edge N915G which was running fine with custom ROM. As there was one problem- low incall volume in the ROM, I decided to revert to Stock firmware. Accordingly, I flashed Stock Firmware with Odin 3.12. Flashing went fine with Odin but I got this infinite bootloop. Now, device turns on, show blue "recovery booting" and samsung logo then turns off. It goes on repeatedly.

I can go to download mode as well as flash TWRP recovery with Odin. But if I try to to flash Custom ROM from TWRP, device switches off in middle of flash while flashing of "system.img".

I cannot sort out the problem. Need help please.

Are you positive you flashed the firmware for your exact model and not just the same device?

Not a Samsung guy, so gonna call @Cyberdev to look this over.
Yeah Positive on that. I even wiped all clean and opted for firmware recovery by Kies/Smartswitch application. It even completed the process with 100%. But I got the same problem.

It is the one I used at first with Odin. Later, I wiped clean everything and went for Smartswitch which automatically downloaded the latest firmware as below:

PDA: QH3
CS: QC6
PHONE: QA4 (INU)

I used smartswitch twice and lately used Kies as well suspecting the format had not support for Note Edge. But the problem is still the same.

Thanks for your quick response.:)

Ah! Thanks for the thorough information. Unfortunately I'm not very familiar with Samsung devices. I was hoping I'd maybe catch something simple and be able to steer you in the right direction. Looks like you're doing all the right things as far as I can tell.

There is a slight possibility of a hardware failure, but it'd be quite a coincidence that it happened right after flashing the stock firmware...

Unfortunately I don't really have any other suggestions at the moment. There's a lot of Samsung people on this forum. I'll do my best to get the attention of a couple of them and see if they can help.

@Cyberdev @Mikestony

Any thoughts on this?

Smartswitch/kies always screws up so i recommened Odin v12

To get the correct firmware for your Note Edge i highly recommend using Updato all you need is you model number and it searches the firmware for any samsung device you want i always use this site because downloads are faster then samsung mobile and their official http://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model

To flash your OS in Odin if you have the latest version you need to ensure that you slect the tab AP and select your firmware ensure that you do not touch your mouse while its checking you'll know when its ready to flash when the oath of where the firmware is shows up

You need to he in the bootloader to flash the firmware usally to get into bootloader its Vol Down+Power+Home

If you need Odin here It is: https://samsungodin.com/download/Odin3 v3.12.3.zip

Just keep in mind if your note edge has support for SIM Funtionality be sure you find a firmware on the model you searched for for example if you have sprint it'll display as this (SPR) usally some of the firnwares are also tied to the contry the tablet was originally purchased from and usalky can have this as well if nor carrier is supported for example (USA)

@Brian706 thanks for letting me know about this post

@Brian706 your welcome glad to help

I downloaded latest firmware from the site and flash via Odin 3.12. All completed but bootloops persists. Initially- device turns on, show "recovery booting" in top left corner in blue text, then shows "Installing updates" then show "erasing" then samsung logo and finally turning off.

Now there is only two second loops- device turning on, samsung logo, turning off.......

My PC recognizes the mobile. So I doubt it is a bootloader problem. Or Is it?

Please help..:(

Umm try again but try to flash TWRP first open it and in twrp wipe the following partitions

/system

/data

/cache

/Dalvik-Cache

Then reboot back to odin bootloader and flash the os again see if that works, if not flash twrp again and try doing the same steps but flash a custom rom but thats if u want to try it and test to see if it also effects custom roms

I wiped everything with TWRP and reflashed the firmware and it is same. I forgot to mention that I cannot install custom rom with TWRP as well. As soon as I install zip in TWRP, device turns off. I installed CWM recovery then flashed Cynongenmod ROM, which completed 100% but still I am getting the bootloop. After this flash, now there is message" kernel is not seandroid enforcing" in upper part. Is kernel creating problem here?

I am able to charge the phone and my PC recognizes it as "SM-915G". So I guess motherboard may not be damaged. But dont know, you are an expert. Please help & suggest.

Um r u sure you flashed the right firmware for your device does it gave a sim?

Actually solved and culprit was the battery. I had never thought bootloop can be caused by defect battery. I got my doubt when I was able to complete boot when I charged the battery to 100%. Now replaced and device running fine. Thanks ..
