Figured I'd get rid of it before Apple makes some announcement about the new iPhone and the prices on the "old" ones drop a little. One thing you gotta love about Apple, their phones hold their value. I sold it for more than I paid, and it's a couple years old. Thank you subsidized phones.

Until my Evo comes in, I'm rocking a AT&T GO Phone. 1.43" screen, no G. Word.

I ditched my Hero on ebay for $200 last Wed, preordered my Evo on Thurs and I'm now rocking a BB Curve 8830 until 6/4. The funny thing is I finally understand the hype surrounding BB's (this is my first one), I really do feel more motivated to type on these phones compared to onscreen KB's

Hmmm, I am wondering if I should do this too. I didnt think it would drop that much in value? I have a 3G 16GB in great condition minus a 1mm chip in the glass at the very top left edge, doesnt effect the screen at all. How much can I get? Where did u sell it? Wonder if I should do this

Try ebay, or if you dont mind selling in person, you can probably get more on craigslist considering the fee on ebay is a bit much (close to 10%). Even if it's completely broken, it will sell on ebay, and you'll get a fair amount. Check out auctions ending soon to get an idea of how much yours will go for.

I've got my 3gs on there right now :D

Sold it on Craigslist for $250. It was a 3G 8GB iPhone and had the newest firmware installed (many people weren't interested when they found that out). He threw in his AT&T GO phone (pre-paid cell phone). I put my SIM card into the GO phone, and called AT&T to cancel my data service (will save me $30 this month).

I don't deal with eBay anymore since Paypal now puts a 21 day on your funds (released IF the buyer actually takes the time to leave you positive feedback). Add this to the eBay fees, and it just is a crappy deal.

this isn't true. if you add tracking to your package and enter it into paypal, it will release the funds a few days after it's confirmed to have arrived at it's destination. i know because i sold my iPhone 3G to someone in Europe last year.

You should really consider jailbreaking and unlocking it, then selling it on ebay. An 8GB iPhone 3G can go for as much as $300, if not a little more. This is what I'm doing. The back of my 3G has a bunch of minor scratches, and there a couple good notches on the corner from being dropped without a case, but I'm selling it with a hard case so these can be covered up and the make the phone look brand new. Unlocking it and jailbreaking it is incredibly easy, so long as you have 3.1.2 installed and a baseband that allows it, so not the most current firmware update.

Hopefully what I get from the sale will pay for the ETF from AT&T and the Incredible I plan on getting (if they ever show up anywhere D: ).

I think you need to take that back. Everything I said was true. What you posted is a way around it, but you WILL have a hold on your funds unless you do what you said OR the buyer leaves positive feedback for you. I just missed a condition, the information was not wrong.

I sold my iPhone 3Gs back in December, because I was weary of endless dropped/missed calls on the stellar AT&T network.

I first got an Eris, which I really liked, but the screen was just too small for my fat fingers. Gave the Eris to my son, and got the Incredible.

The Inc. has been good, except for the random re-boot issue. I could not resist ordering the EVO, as it seems even better than the Inc.

Love Android, and could never imagine ever going back to Apple.

Can you give me a quick walkthrough on that! Contacts, I mean! I have to port my number over then break my contract with att before I sell!

1. Back up your iPhone.

2. Connect your iPhone and open Itunes

3. Select your Iphone in the device list

4. Click the Info Tab

5. Check the "Sync Contacts with:" checkbox and change the dropdown to "Windows Address Book"

6. Click all contacts. I think this step is also where I checked all of the checkboxes to make sure that my notes were synced as well.

7. At the bottom of iTunes, click "Sync".

8. Make sure you select "Merge" !!!!!!!!!! (it will delete your contacts from your phone if you don't)

I think it gives you the option to save as a CSV or some other format. Both formats are recognized by Gmail if you want to import them in there.

I'm selling my iPhone sometime this week to some dude on Craigslist. It's a 3Gs for $350 so I'm pretty happy. I just pre-ordered my EVO from RadioShack and I've gotta say, it's one of the best experiences ever. First of all, I was planning on getting the Incredible but due to such a short supply and a $400 security deposit, it wasn't looking very likely. Then I started thinking about it; by the time the Incredible is in stock, the EVO will be out and it'll be the same price for a better phone with a cheaper price plan on a service that is very well covered in my area. I've put up with the iPhone with AT&T coverage for the past 3 years and so any kind of gap in Sprint's already exceptional coverage in my area is something I can definitely put up with. So anyway, I went into RadioShack expecting a security deposit similar to Verizon... but it was only $50. What the ****? Am I getting messed with? No. I'm getting hooked the **** up. Awesome! So the phone is pre-ordered and even if the guy on Craigslist bails on buying my iPhone I can still sell it to RadioShack for $280 so basically, it's a free phone no matter what. I'm super pumped. I can not wait until this phone comes out.

Quick question though: Does the EVO have a notification light like the Incredible? I've never had a notification light on my phone and am actually kind of excited for that so that I can know whether I have a message or not without turning on the screen, haha.
