Root ZTE Zmax Pro Official Root Discussion

I haven't been on the forums in a long time so I'm honestly bummed that no progress was made, and being the realist I am there's no why I'm acknowledging rumors of any breakthroughs with legitimate consideration because who wouldn't want the recognition of cracking the uncrackable despite the toxic atmosphere, it's easier to keep your mouth shut if you ain't got nothin, plus you can't miss what you never had so there's no point in complaining. I'm only reminded of why I wanted root on this phone when YouTube ads start to bug me, unfortunately the Xposed framework is running out working modules to block them on my rooted devices so where all headed towards more forced consumption, loss of real personalization down to a software's code and locked hardware, like I said, bummed.

Dude I know... Best phone I've ever owned, all things considered.

Same ZTE, different phone. Root has been available for the Axon 7 for a while now.
I know this, but for them to release all their source files like that is kind of unprecedented since they usually only reluctantly release the kernel (which usually has errors). It just seems promising for Development vs previous interactions (hence @Unforgiven 's surprise as well, I'm thinking). Heck.. maybe ZTE just needs some help to get some stuff ironed out?
I'm welcoming the change, it's much needed for everyone's benefit.

Are you familiar with pgp keys there is a public and private key the public key encrypts it and the private key reads it unless we could get that private key we have nothing IF I've read into that correctly

Correct me if I'm wrong but i believe your statement of facts is true but backwards

Private key= Signing key that encrypts at factory, usually contained in the Base rom ( NOT ANDROID ROM ) in the Board and sometimes protected further by Q-fuses

Public key= basically the same key that is attainable by unzipping an OTA.zip
which is used to read the encrypted hash...
you'll see some files with the .crt or .rsa extension

unless I'm Having a brain-fart here.

Can anyone tell me this?

from what I see right here it looks like this device was out well before December 2016,
so if you were to have it in stock form---> Never updated.
What would the patch level/date be?

I'm wondering if it's at all susceptible to Dirtycow ...
I don't have hands on one of these devices but would like to help.

I'm pretty sure it's ftu or from. But the pro does have musicfx an BusyBox installed as system apps which are apps that are used with root not sure why they would be tho

When you guys go to xda-developers look me up and email me. I still want to know why root is so important.
Root let's you install custom roms, get rid of bloat ware that could cause device slow down especially if your device has a low amount of ram like the zmax pro, and it let's you use apps that need root on the play store, or apps like a modded play store.

Because ZTE needed it to do anti-Root testing. Yes, they were busted with a Root switch. Really. They also intentionally made ZTE OS's unstable with Root functions to deter ppl from trying to Root at all. Str8 up.

Nice work too everyone here , been reading nd checking since day one ,
I'm no techie , jus a little Linux experience, but delt with Samsung,HTC,apple, windows , etc etc ,
Probably way behind just some basics about ZTE there setup is backwards , as. Too other manufacturers to get to the recovery options it's power down, but ZTE max pro takes you to FTM , OK I'm boring but bare witness , OK power ,up gets you into recovery, backwards, OK now here's where I help my gentleman and ladies , power plus up and down nothing a black screen? Yes? OK this download mode on some phones same as fastboot? In this mode connect to adb , I'll make a video , this gonna take seeing than telling .....

You have to get adb to recognize the device first. ZTE Flash in download mode, adb doesn't see the device.
