Accessories Galaxy Note 8 glass screen protector options

I hear you bro,..
But I've been doing this since the "G1". Flat screens take maximum f/upage to break or scratch.
Dann, @Duckster!!

.
Just curious if you have tried this particular one (Invisible Shield)? I'd think that this company would lose considerable income if they just keep handing them out after one breaks (even thought I think that they SHOULD considering how much it costs). From what I have been reading, it seems that very few glasses are working with the Note 8 because of the curve...so...you could be right. I don't have enough experience with curve edges to be sure...just IMHO, this one is pretty good so far (combined with the protective case).

I just bought this one from Amazon...
Galaxy Note 8 Screen Protector Glass (Full Screen Coverage)(Easy Installation Tray), amFilm Dot Matrix 3D Curved Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Tempered Glass Screen Protector 2017.
It does have a curve to it but doesn't curve too much and the cutouts are perfect. It also comes with a tray for perfect positioning. It wasn't very expensive and it looks decent. The adhesive is just along the top and bottom but it seems to be doing fine so far and because it doesn't quite meet the case it doesn't show any danger of popping off.

I was going to go naked on the screen but began to notice tiny scratches along the curved edges and didn't want the trend to continue.

Best Buy told me the good Zagg tempered Glass was back for the Note 8 the clear one which we used for our HTC's. Our 7 edges they didn't make it just the ones with the black or silver at the top or bottom. We used to love the Zagg tempered Glass so you like the Zagg for the Note 8 and is it the clear? I'm gonna call my Zagg Kiosk at the mall and find out more about it. Now to shop for cases!

Used the Zagg for a week. No drops, no banging, and it cracked out of the blue. Same with my wife's on her S8. Yes, it protects the screen but.....

I started off with the Wellci 3D curved Screen Protector. The responsiveness was great, but after two months it cracked in three places. It scared the heck out of me until I realized it was just the protector and not the phone itself. I have never dropped the phone, so it just cracked.

I don't like having that screen "unprotected" so I bought the Base Tempered Glass protector. The responsiveness is horrible. If I can find anything that is decently rated it's coming off.

Me, either. If you hear or find something worthwhile please post or let me know. I will do the same.

So these things are trash! They keep lifting off the edges about a month or so after a perfect install!!

I Have no joke purchased this 7 times!!!

Amazon luckily has sent me 4 of those free but the other 3 I had to pay for myself! I am doing nothing wrong. It is a simple mindless process in my opinion. Its the crappy glue that they are using that has to be the issue.

Does anyone know why this keeps lifting on the edges like this a 3+ weeks after install?!!!

OK....I saw your post a while ago. This EXACT same thing just happened to me with my Zagg. I did absolutely nothing wrong, and there was the crack about mid way up on the left edge!!! Apparently they charge $44 for the glass, but they are willing to give you a life time warranty. The catch? They charge you $9.99 for shipping each replacement. There is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY that shipping should cost this much!!! My warranty order was denied, but they still charged my card. I received a very nice letter after complaining and was told that it would drop off the card in a few days, but the order in deed did NOT go through due to the card being rejected (there was nothing wrong with my credit card). The nice lady said that due to my issues, she would send one to me for free! So there you have it...they will get some of their money back if you use the warranty.

I'll try another Zagg to see if the same thing happens. I have the Otter Box case. I'm leaning towards the liquid shield.

My Gpel screen protector has a tiny crack about 2/3 down from the top that is maybe 1/4" in size. I dropped one of those stainless steel cups on it 3 weeks ago. The crack hasn't gotten any bigger though so I am leaving it alone. This screen protector while curved, doesn't fit all the way around to the case so it lays flat on the surface of the phone. That is why the crack didn't keep crawling. It is also why there are no dead zones and why the protector does not lift along the edges. No debris has been able to get under the screen protector either although I do blow air along the edge of the case from time to time to clean between the case and protector where dirt will gather.
Maybe you should look at this brand or another that is made like it. You know, one that lays flat on your screen? You might get better results. This one was less than $20.00

I'll look into that. Mine doesn't go all the way down either, and it does lay flat. However, the crack is crawling. If it wasn't for this unexplained crack, I'd have been totally happy with the Zagg. I do carry it in my pocket with nothing else around it so I'm baffled as to why it cracked in the first place unless it was just "stressed" from sitting and standing with it in my pocket. If the same thing happens to the new one that should arrive any day now, then I'd say that it is flawed just like many of the other ones.

Well, I do have a case on my phone too and it reaches above the face of the phone at the top and bottom so when I lay it face down on a table the screen does not touch the table...germs on public surfaces and all that ya know. And I don't carry my phone in the pocket of my britches because of lint issues. Maybe that is part of the reason the crack on my protector isn't getting any bigger?

I haven't read through the entire thread so if this hasn't been said before it probably needs reiterating; back in the day I had a HTC M7, GG2 I believe, I used it exclusively for 3 years and when I have it to a friend in its retirement she asked me where she could buy a screen protector from and why had I removed the one I had on there. The screen was in perfect condition and I had never used a screen protector!

Food for thought especially as were using GG5!

My case also rises above the glass of the phone. 100% agree about the germs & stuff. Glass has always worked for me in the past when I dropped my phone. No drops this time. Could have been defective from day one and I just never noticed it. I'l always use a screen protector.

I never put screen protection on my phones before this one either but then the screen size wasn't this large. Also, before I got the screen protector for my Note8 I had already noticed tiny scratches along the edges. I figured I'd better be safe than sorry as I am not worried so much about the screen cracking as being scratched.

I had the screen protector that Verizon had for the note 8 on my phone initially, it didn't stay on very long. I then went to a different Verizon store and they wiped on some sort of chemical that they called nano glass. The case I have on my phone is above the level of the phone at the top and bottom as others have said. I'm fairly easy on my phone, don't drop it very much, but I have had no problems with this nano glass stuff.

Good Morning folks! I picked up the Note 8 in early December and LOVE this phone. I am very particular about my phones and have kept them pristine and with cases and screen protectors always. They look perfect after two years or more of heavy daily usage and I am able to sell them on Swappa for a great price. Ok, so the Note 8...I did not yet have a screen protector on the phone as I was undecided as to which one to try. I went to bed one evening and as usual was enjoying a last read of the evening before setting the note on my nightstand charging for the night. In the morning when I picked up the phone for the first time, I saw a hairline crack in the screen on the right side. No, I have not dropped the phone. I do not recall hitting the screen at all (granted, I accept it is a possibility). Local shops wanted $450 - $550 to replace the screen. Samsung did it for $237. When i was googling the issue, i did find a forum with many other people claiming a similar event. Samsung's repair center said it was not a defect, of course. It is on its way back to me and should be here Wednesday. Now, I am back to fervently researching screen protectors.

I'm sorry to hear about your screen! I just noticed that the Zagg that I bought for $49.99 at Verizon (lifetime warranty, BUT you'll eventually pay for it) was at Best Buy for $26! I just don't get how they can do that, but I'd say try Best Buy. If I had it to do all over again, I would love to try the Whitestone Dome Glass.

From the Uk I bought https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B074G1W2RC/

It went on super easy with the guide block and touch screen works at a feather touch pen or finger.
I realy dont want the dots but they are aalmost always invisible.
Glass covers the edges fully but still case compatible.
It's a fingerprint magnet but no more than the native screen.
Very happy with this glass though, apart from the occasional visibility of dots |that I am not sure of the purpose of
