I am devastated. Does this phone not have the LED notification light option? I use Textra for messaging and am used to different people having different colors. I know who the text is from just by looking at the light.
I know the Moto display discreetly shows the text bubble, but not in color...(I also have different color text bubble notifications for various people). I'm not seeing those colors on the Moto display screen though.
Any suggestions or is there something I'm missing?
Thanks in advance.

Was your previous phone a Samsung or Huawei? As those are only two I know that have a multi-colour notification LED.

Welcome to Android Forums. Your picture is of the proximity sensor and front flash. I assume you are referring to the front flash. It is optionally on when taking a picture from the front side of the phone.

You can make it flash by taking a picture. You can have an app like Tasker take the picture under control.

I think when you try it you will find that it would be DANGEROUS to use it as a notification reminder.

I have never taken the Moto Z2 Force to 0% battery. I believe that if I did and plugged it into the turbo charger the light in question would blink telling me that there was not sufficient charge to allow the screen to be turned on. It is only used for this purpose.

Bottom line is ... everyone is correct ...
  • There is no notification indicator.
  • There is an indicator that could be used as a notification indicator if the firmware was added to support that use.
