Fatality: 2018 edition

These days I've been watching videos on YouTube from Cayleigh Elise and Rob Dyke, these make vids about people who are deceased and/or missing.
It brings awareness of these cases but it's likely no one reveals anything if they know. That is, for whatever reason it may be.
Personally, I'm convinced that Maddie McCan was pre-planned for kidnap by her parents but obviously they'll always make themselves the victims. Because $$$.

Based on what evidence do you draw that conclusion?
Are you saying the parents sold their own daughter for financial gain?! Ridiculous!
Judging by what I've seen of the case (and I don't know all the facts). They are guilty of extreme negligence by leaving their young children unattended.

This is so infuriating. Ugh! On the article it makes it seem like 'We just need to get used to it as part of our normal routine' as it happens somewhat frequently.
I don't believe this was a false flag but a nutcase who just wanted to harm people. I guess there'll be a time when schools will have armed up police officers but in that scenario, it's a police state.
RIP.

Even then it will not be enough - if a person intends to do harm, he will find a way.

I think this is OT for this thread, and more suited to P&CA.

Back on subject...
Ursula K Le Guin: US fantasy author dies at home in Oregon - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-42798654

Oh, man, I love a lot of her works. R. I. P.

For what it’s worth going forward...

While we otherwise generally lament the loss of lives (almost everyone is important to someone else), the focus of this thread (and its similarly-themed predecessors) is to reference the passing of those persons who in their lives achieved some manner of celebrity or fame so that they are already broadly known to society for their accomplishments.

This is not to imply that the deaths of anyone else are not of note, but again, such deaths are not within the ambit of this thread.

Roger that. It was just ... too close to home for me with the kids deaths.
