SMS Error after Factory Reset...PLEASE Help!

I just did the factory reset and now cannot send, and probably receive, sms messages. I get a SMS Error: General Problems. Cause Code 34 Error Class 2.

I did a second factory reset in hopes that the eror would go away but it's still happening. Does anyone know what I should do?

Had the same problem myself. Called Verizon and they were able to resolve it fairly quickly. They didn't give me specifics but when I told them it was an Eris that got the OTA and a factory reset; they seemed to have a pattern to follow and it 10 minutes it was done. Suggest that you have then to test voice calls as well as text .. I had to call back to get he voice working again as everything was rolling to voicemail

Again .. in the latter case, they didn't seem suprised and it was resolved

Great that they had the fix at their fingertips at Verizon. They must be seeing this issue often enough for them to have resolved it; I'm wondering if it's something at their end that has recently come up, if so we'll be seeing more posts, I'm sure.

Too bad you couldn't get some details about it and especially about what they did; we can only speculate. I'm thinking it's the old weak tower signal issue in a slightly different form. I used to see it at the Blackberry forums as well.

Thanks! I just got off the phone with tech support. The activation somehow got mesed up but we got it going again. SMS seems to be working...

Now that is a problem from the olden days.
