what baffles me about the update is the things that they changed that weren't actually "broken" in 1.5
for example, the controls in the camera. In 1.5 they would switch from portrait to landscape depending on the orientation of the phone. Made sense, worked like every other application pretty much. The documentation talked about it, so clearly they intended it to work this way, it wasn't a bug.
Now, in 2.1, the controls stay in landscape. No matter what. So, apparently, someone at htc said, "you know what, i think people only take pictures in landscape, so let's turn off that code to reorient the controls. Even though it's already in the code, and no one at all has ever complained about it"
seriously, why would they do that? Job security? Fix what's broken, but leave the things that worked alone. No wonder these releases take so long.
