Desired Updates

Hi All,
what would you like to see HTC include with any new updates they release
to the OS of the Hero.
What are the main wrinkles that really Miff you off that you think is important to fix/iron out to make the phone even better than it is now and what would you like added to kick that iphones Ass further?

* Fix the hero's behaviour w.r.t. 802.11n routers - i dont want it to connect at N speeds, G will be fine - i just want it to not crash the router when it connects.

* Ability to select a lock screen wallpaper from one of the standard scenes (kinda trivial i know but very annoying just because its weird that this isnt in there already).

* Ability to install apps to SD without rooting

* Ability to choose which apps run at bootup without rooting

* Ability to customise scenes a bit more, e.g. different favourite contacts lists per scene, different bookmarks.

* Option to re-enable clock/weather animations if we're prepared to take the performance hit.​

They're all good points.
I'd say, give us a better software for the camera, it's just rubbish when not in the sunlight.
I prefer a 3.2 mpxel camera which is actually taking pictures of something inside buildings..

I like those.

I'd add:

*Ability to delete/uninstall widgets
*Better PEOPLE widgets with more options and layouts

Also, i'm sick of having a bunch of half named widgets on the home screen, e.g. 'Google M...', 'Google S...' etc.

So give us:

* ability to rename widgets/shortcuts

and/or

* display 2 lines of text for widget/shortcut names. You get 2 lines of text per program on the 'all programs' page, and that fits 4 lines of programs on the page at once, same as the home screen - so why not show 2 lines of text on the home screen too?

That's not a needed feature, it's a bug correction.

I thought it was implicit but on a second glance, the more we shout out loud about that, the sooner someone will give us a solution.

The default applications like messages, peep, calls, show only yesterday, today... But not the time, anybody noticed that... It is very annoying for me... I need to see the time...

I have never experienced the SMS issue, so it must not be universal.

My wishes include a better calendar application, with week view and swipe-to-next-day;

Stronger vibrations;

Option to have notifications linger until cleared (meaning vibration and alert);

Option to remove unused home screens;

Don't autolaunch apps like Peep!

Be able to view the time of an SMS once it is not the current day any more.

Voice dialling

Proper backup solution!!! One that backs up *everything* and will restore correctly even after an update.

Proper "silent" toggle that mutes everything.

Definitely a much better calendar app (like the one on my old Sonny P990 would be good) and as mentioned the ability to not run some apps at startup.

Why have the ringer volume controlled on the side buttons? Crazy!

I've missed many a call this way, when the buttons get pressed while in your pants or whatever......

You can rename widgets already. There is an app that lets you name them whatever you want. Works great for 3 email accounts I have.

Make the dialing app / people app faster!!! So slow, probably my biggest complaint!
