Sooner or later you will find yourself looking to save some battery life. here are a few ways.

1- Disable Always-On Display
2- Put apps to sleep
3- Lower screen resolution
4- Use Dark wallpaper/ Shorten screen timeout
5- Auto Screen brightness off
6- Turn Wifi off when not in use.

The video shows how to do these if you're not familiar with the settings on the phone. Feel free to add to the list:

What's the point of turning wifi and/or data off?? You wouldn't get any live notifications. It doesn't use that much power anyway, its only when the screen is on that it starts to suck the juice away.

Just use the phone as intended and charge it when needed.
When wifi is not being used it continues to search for a signal which takes battery life up. I also never said turn data off.

Depending on your situation with carrier network, signal strength etc, using wireless data could use considerably more power than using WiFi. And I recently found it did as I spent a few days in a place without WiFi last month, and my phone battery was draining noticeable quicker using 4G LTE all the time rather than WiFi. Plus also there's considerations like metered data, fixed data allowances, etc. Myself, I don't have an unlimited carrier data plan, so could actually be costing me real money if I turned off WiFi.

Turning off data wasn't an option for me anyway, because of VOIP, WeChat and QQ messaging, etc.

I was referring to when wifi is searching but not connecting. I know people who just also have it on ever when there is no wifi.
