Root Froyo(2.2) platform for SDK

According to Engadget Cyanogen has already stated that there are some Froyo changes already up on the ASOP... This was yesterday, so I would assume that as soon as all the changes are up on ASOP (probably today or by the end of the week) we should be seeing a new version of CM fairly soon...

Edit: Cyanogen has the source, it was released to Developers today!!!!

BRING ON THE ROMS!!!!

The SDK and source are different. As far as I can tell 2.2 source has had some tidbits put into AOSP but there hasnt been a full 2.2 release yet.

Am I the only one not exited about Flash? Hulu seems to be the only real thing of interest and it's not supported due to legal issues, and even then I wouldn't really watch a full show on my Droid. It's more of a "look what I can do" sort of thing.

BUT 2.2 looks to be much faster...

I tend to agree for the most part. I am hoping that it is an option to enable and disable.

There is a LOT more to be done with flash than just Hulu:rolleyes:

There are TONs of informative sites that use interactive flash animations, flash menus, etc. Many of these sites are useless without flash.

Then there are the flash games sites..:p

Then the flash cartoon sites..

Need I go on??

You will see it incorporated into ROMS within a week, if not by next weekend if the Source code has been released.

How do you know this? If you DO know this for sure, fine. Otherwise I think there will be many threads next week saying "Where are the 2.2 ROMs?" and it creates false hope and rumors.

On another note, I can't wait to play Tofu Hunter from AdultSwim.com on my Droid.

I will find you. I am in IL, you are a drive away, and with my Droid I will get there quickly. I just better bring my charger :p

Don't worry...I'll put some info in the thread about how to conserve battery life while driving in the car! ;) Sorry...I just read 2.2 and I started laughing at what the threads are going to say...

"With JIT, my phone is faster but I can't make it through a full day on a single charge...help!" and..."Will watching flash based videos all day long drain my battery?" or (and I love these)..."Should I be at 80% battery at 11am with only light texting, and streaming Pandora? It wasn't this way on 2.1" :D

For all of you Cyanogen fans... simmer down. lol. I'd love to see a new 2.2 CM up just as much of the rest of you, but the sad fact of the matter is just because Cyanogen releases it doesn't mean we'll get it. Koush still hasn't finished any of the 5.0.7 builds yet. He seems to be MIA.

Cyanogen hasnt released 5.0.7 yet either. 5.0.7 is in test for every device. Test0 and test1 for the droid are quite stable though. The biggest hurdle the droid is going to have in regards to 2.2 is the kernel. If the 2.6.32 or 2.6.33 kernel is required we could be in for a wait since current Ti drivers dont work with those kernels.

I just joined twitter yesterday (held out on Facebook...gave in...held out on Twitter...gave in again), so my old ass (relatively speaking :D) is new to this but I think when someone re-tweets something...I assume that they agree with the original tweet...right?

Cyanogen and several other people re-tweeted this:

how long before @cyanogen and other devs get pissed off of people demanding froyo?

Seriously people...back off and let it come. I know everyone hates to not be in control but try and keep this in mind...If you can't do something yourself or pay someone enough to get them to do it for you (in your desired time frame), then just wait patiently :)
