Ah....the big day for google's announcement for suppose (aka. most defiant) Froyo 2.2 release and now there's rumors that Gingerbread will be release by the end of this year!!

Yes read the news! which I'm quite surprise...would have thought it'd be rumoured to be next year...I swear I read somewhere that after Froyo, Google would start slowing the releases to once a year or something since the OS has stabalized, lol

Lol, I'm new to Android so I'll let myself off not knowing about the dessert naming!
But, WhatOnEarth kind of dessert is "Froyo" - Never, ever heard of that!!

Ahh, you are correct, but I'm only familiar with 2.0, and then 2.1 which followed so swiftly - guess I meant I didn't realise all the different versions had "codenames".
