Vanir's purpose is to bring you exceptional quality control and provide a unique experience in an open source environment. We've rewritten mountains of code including your favorite features to be better integrated, improved functionality, and have better performance for this purpose. Vanir and Commotio share the same device tree setup and other things but each is different. Don't ask how, just try for yourself. It is also safe to dirty flash over each other at will, with no likely repercussions.

Thank You! I have been going thru my previous builds, rebuilding each from scratch in hopes I can get the print working on more ROMs.. But it is what oy is so far, I'll keep building and keep hoping to find more that do

I'm currently using vanir and I actually like it. I've tested commotio also.

They both have fingerprint scanners so thats a big plus. They are both pretty lightweight and fast.

Only issue I have is that they both automatically install an older version of magisk. It asked me to update magisk so I installed the update but it updated to the version before the latest version. I rebooted my phone again and magisk asked me to update once again. I installed the update and this time it updated to the latest version.
I wonder why it didn't allow me to just update to the latest version the first time.

Any news on oreo?

What did you flash for magisk? I try to not have preRooted ROMs cuz everyone has their personal preferences, can flash whichever one ya like instead of having to fight with removing SU to install another

This rom automatically installs an older version of magisk. When the rom boots up, it asks you to update to a newer version of magisk. The problem comes in because it doesn't install the newest version of magisk. It installs the version before the newest version. So you have to reboot again and then it'll ask you again to update. This time it'll update to the newest version.

Hmm.. OK, I'll look into removing Magisk completely or updating the repo itself so ppl can choose how/which way they want Root Access. Thanks for pointing that out.

I tried looking onto that one and was just straight up confused as to how I was to go about it, mainly because it seemed like the repo depended on some Miui patch or the patch WAS the repo. I figured that if it confused me that much, I'd leave it alone.. So I built MoKee ROM instead

.... Or at least some of the more well known roms. You have some pretty good roms like Mokee, vanir and commotio. However, most of the fingerprint scanners don't work on most of the roms. It's kind of a bummer to have to enter my password everytime I want to get into my phone.

Yes, I do intend to, but some of those 'more well known ROMs' have building errors I haven't figured out yet.

Touchè, Lol. You don't HAVE to do anything either. I appreciate your insight as you are indeed one of few giving them. And I can say that I too have been in your shoes (flash-a-holic 😎, Lol) and deserved your last post. I got upset cuz some of the comments made it seem like the ones I had made wasn't good enough. I can actually say that several of the ROMs so far for this device, I've never seen or built for any device so far. As for the donations, no one has ever donated to me before so that doesn't phase me.. but you are right, was probably more petty on my end as I should have been more patient since I've been in your same position with this: just learning to Root & ROM. Out of all due respect (which I should have stuck with earlier) I shouldn't have even made any posts while in the situation I currently am (in physical pain) cuz I turn into an Ass too quickly. This also means that I realized we actually all need each other in this sector of technology and my lashing out was disrespectful and I should have risen above that. Therefore I deeply apologize for being a 💩 about it and I need to just leave the threads alone when I feel that way. Seriously, thank you and the rest of ya guys for testing and reporting. You guys do way more in depth testing than I do sometimes. So if you're up to it, we can start over and get back to productive efforts/friendships on this.. Additionally, they're not the best roms in the world either. The fingerprint sensor doesn't work on half of them and the camera doesn't work on the other half. Yet, out of the kindness of my heart and because I admire your hard work, I was still on the verge of donating to you. I was willing to donate to roms that are only working 70%, at best.

1. Regardless of what I edited I even apologized for my outburst and offense taken.
2. The camera has worked on every ROM I've released for the Moto E4 Plus so far cuz I checked 99% of them and update the OP when told it doesn't. I don't like posting ROMs with bad cameras. Yes, the print is broken on some of them but I post that in OP.
3. I'll ask a Mod to put my previous post back online so everyone can see how much of an ass I really was or was not. You've just convinced me that I maybe you didn't deserve an apology to begin with. I'd thought I overreacted..

Np. That was bugging me for too long. I don't know how I didn't notice the problem sooner. I almost got cmactions and the fp stuff working right. I'll be sure to share that also when I got it fully working. I think I'll make a lineage thread here and post up to date builds since Sean hasn't updated his in a while.
