Root Ooops. Gmail apps??

So I just went for my first root. I went with cyanogenmod, but I guess I was supposed to check a gmail apps...? Or something. So I'm missing my gmail, marketplace, etc... Supposedly there's a .zip somewhere on cyanogenmod's site, but I cant find it.

Any help?

should work with any droid running cyanogenmod. I guess it would really work with any device. Its the same gapps used on N1

So I tried installing it. I allowed download, and it started installing and said installation aborted. I tried twice.

how are you installing it? What recovery are you using?

SPR. I just went to recovery mode, install, allow update.zip from SD, install.

You could try redownloading although you would have much better luck just flashing clockworkmod recovery. Its better than SPR anyway

Did you press Allow when it asked for super-user rights? Sometimes SU Permissions works weird the first time you allow, so try flashing it again and see if it is successful.

ah well the problem there is that you dont have the current version of rom manager. nice little problem since you cant get it without the market.

The first time I tried flashing it it didnt prompt me to give permission. So I tried rebooting my phone, and right at the reboot it popped up, but by then it was too late. I did try to press accept.

well you could flash a different rom then download rom manager from the market flash clockwork recovery then flash cyanogenmod and gapps. But downloading rom manager and installing it sounds a lot easier to me

you would have to use either terminal or Adb to install it since you dont have a file browser on your phone.

Alright, I got it. I installed the new ROMManager, its working. I flashed Clockwork. So now how do I run the gapps install?

You could go a head and just reinstall CM from RomManager, and make sure to check Gapps... That would probably be the easiest...

from rom manager install rom from sd card. Find gapps zip. That should do it
