Google assistant

New S9+ here. Gone from an S3 to an S6 and now this. Amazing stuff.
Anyway, the Google assistant (the thing that you can ask questions to, if you long hold the home button) responds to 3 questions and then ignores me. Now I'm used to being ignored by women and take it in my stride but thought an electronic woman wouldn't be so rude.
I don't use it a lot but sometimes it can be mildly amusing or useful.
Any ideas?

Cleared cache and deleted data in settings.
Seems to work now.
