Can you explain a little more? Trying to understand, maybe an actual scenario? Pushing what? SMS are already instant, and recently Google Voice allows push notification.

no, its not just messages. You can transfer the whole content + settings to your phone like driving instructions on Google maps that are automatically shown on your Android device in Google navigation after sending them

Can you explain a little more? Trying to understand, maybe an actual scenario? Pushing what? SMS are already instant, and recently Google Voice allows push notification.

For example a facebook notification would be instant instead of having to set an interval for facebook app to check for messages.

Or instant scoring alerts for football games without the app running and draining your battery

Basically anything that you set an interval for an app to check for new content/ messages, it would be "pushed" to your phone without the app running all the time.

So you can go to google maps on your desktop and get directions, then transfer them to your phone. This doesn't seem very useful since you can do it just as easily from your phone.

So, I've heard mention of an FM radio capability in a few articles. Is this still something that'll be included? If so, is it just certain phones? Having a Moto Droid, I'm hoping since it's got the capability, it will be available. To be honest, it's one of the features I'm looking forward to (that is if it indeed is coming with 2.2)

"...Android 2.2 will be here soon, and some devices will get the update in the coming weeks. I invite application developers to download the new SDK and tools and test your applications today."

quote from:
Android Developers Blog: Android 2.2 and developers goodies.

I'm expecting this is to make sure that applications run smoothly before they launch it... Lame but understandable.
