A child is born in Boston, Massachusetts to parents who were both born in
Boston, Massachusetts. The child is not a United States citizen. How is this
possible?
While this is true in this case because there are no U.S. citizens prior to 1788 (when the constitution was ratified), Naturalization laws state that children born to non-citizen parents (in the country legally) are granted citizenship.
