I don't think as many as they COULD be pre-selling, if they'd actually oh... I dunno... ADVERTISE to the GENERAL PUBLIC maybe?

I'm betting 50k or less. I don't think Sprint has put a lot into the pre-order marketing. Sprint itself is not doing pre-orders. Sprint's CFO very publicly stated that there will not be shortages (so I think they're sitting on a pretty sizeable inventory) which negates people's need to pre-order. The $10 question is a barrier and effectively killed pre-order rush from most people on the fence or coming from another carrier. Pre-order would have been great if the release date was before Memorial day weekend and a full 7-10 days before the iPhone media blast begins, but it didn't happen. And the biggest reason - there really is no incentive to pre-order that's known (no free services, no free extras/accessories, not even a sticker).

I bet the employees who plan Sprint office parties could have come up with better marketing in a one-hour meeting than the actual Sprint marketing team and executives have.

Bet there's something like that in Columbus, OH too. BTW - gonna have to imagine two new faces in those photos soon b/c neither of those guys is going to make it through this season. Guy on right - gone immediately after the OSU-UM game. Guy on left - gone as soon as it's clear the Wolves are going miss the NCAA Big Dance.

WV got a better hardwood coach. Still looking for the right gridiron coach there though.

the pre info thing was mainly for us geeks that paid attention to ctia. now that reviews are going up everywhere there are also flyers in bb and rs not to mention adds all over the internet. dont forget this is the weekend for the sprint nextel cup so this is prbly where the advertising begins

That email should have made it possible to pre-order from the Sprint site, but it didn't. So it was a quickly read and trashed piece of info-spam that will not have accomplished what it could have.

It was like being told there's a party and all the things that would be happening there, but not being told when the party was, how to get in, or what/if you needed to bring/do anything special.

Not letting the marketing creativity flow on this campaign....

I honestly dont think Sprint will sell as many as they could since they arent advertising the phone much. Yea you see the phone on some sites but not on tv yet. You see how many Driod commercials Verizon has thrown. The only Sprint commercial I see lately have been the 4g ones. I mean the phone is coming out in 2 weeks and nothing, just another great Sprint failure in advertising .

125k. IF they have some commercials. They also need to start marketing the SenseUI more. The general public doesn't care about huge specs that they don't know what they mean. They want useability like Apple. Tell them how EASY TO USE it is!!!!! No need to say 1GZ Processor in every commercial. Say 2x faster than... Don't say "HDMI out", say "plugs into your HDTV". The general consumer is dumb, and there are much more of them than us tech savvy people.

Also, market to business customers. Let them know that the phone has Exchange support, and that you can see your whole email like it was meant to be seen (unlike on a Blackberry). Just got an email from HP yesterday that was an unreadable mess on my Blackberry. Looked fine on the iPhone.
