Yep - we're a week away from the actual Unpacked Event... but you can reserve your Note9 right now on the Shop Samsung app!

So get a jump on the line: if the announcement doesn't impress you, cancel your reservation. Here's a screen shot of the app...

I don't think shop samsung works in the UK, nothing here from Samsung Uk

Maybe not - from the choices of carriers, it looks like this is a US initiative right now.

I strongly recommend, though, that anyone looking to reserve their Note9 select the 'UNLOCKED' version, rather than a carrier-branded phone. For some inexplicable reason, Samsung has caved to Verizon's demands that VZW devices get 'dumbed down' - with fewer, more simplified settings and pathetic carrier apps that replace the superior stock apps. As an example, the free 15GB Samsung Cloud is crippled on the Verizon Galaxy phones, replaced with the 5GB Verizon Cloud. I refuse to use it out of sheer principle.

Some additional news on the specs for the Note 9 and Galaxy Watch via Reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/94txyn/some_info_you_mightve_not_read_about_yet/

That's awesome news! I have the Bose Quiet Comfort 35s and they are phenomenal - so I look forward to comparing them to the AKGs. Whichever is better, I'll keep and sell the other one.

No confirmation on the Galaxy Watch running Tizen or Wear OS... we'll see Thursday morning!

    39-1/2 hours to go!

Just watched unpacked and I don't believe they said when we can pre-order, did they? I just chatted with VZW on-line and they said they do not have the announcement yet for the dates.

    EDIT:

Just saw on DroidLife.com that pre-orders will start tonight at 12:01 ET / 9:01 PT. However, looks like right now, only blue or purple will be available in the US at this time. WTF? Every phone I've had has been black. If I don't want to wait, looks like I'll get stuck with a blue phone with a nasty yellow S-Pen.
    Barf-o-rama!

I know I can cover it up with a case, but I'm generally not a case guy, and nothing can hide the nasty yellow pen. Unless I explore my feminine side and get the purple lavender version. Ugg.

Kinda sounds like Samsung is trying to sabotage themselves with those colors.

I let Samsung have it, too. I sent them a flamespray email about the ridiculous decision to not offer pre-orders in black. Wow, it's only the most popular phone color in the world, probably by a factor of ten...

I reserved a Note 9, and got a message on my Note 8 that my reservation was ready. When I clicked on the Notification, it opened the Samsung Store. it showed me the phone I reserved, and my Note 8 I am trading in. When I clicked to continue, the store stopped working, and I had to force close it. The Notification disappeared. I reopened the store, but everything was gone. Any way to get that back? Would love to get it shipped.

My Shop Samsung app works great, and the Note9 is available in any color you want... as long as you want Blue or Lavender

    :p

I got the typical non-response from Samsung this morning:

Thank you for contacting the Samsung US Technical support.

We understand that you want to have Galaxy Note 9 in Midnight black color to purchase it.

I have checked the information for you and see that Midnight black color Note 9 phone has not yet released and we are unable to speculate if / when the Note 9 will be released with Midnight black color. We regret for the inconvenience this may have caused. As of now the phones are released with Ocean Blue and Lavender Purple colors.

If they are released in Midnight Black color, it will be posted on our Samsung news website.

Please access the below link for the latest updates and announcements from Samsung.

Did Samsung seriously just not think that many people would be interested in a black phone???
