New SDHC Card won't work.

I have a really strange new issue with my ZMAX Pro and a new SD card.

So I've just purchased what is basically the same exact SanDisk SDHC Micro SD card I have been using the last 2 years. My old one has been used so much, that it has started to become corrupted.

When I turn my phone off, insert the new card, and start it up, no matter how I format the card, my phone's camera will give me a message stating that there is no external memory available, then it will force shut down the camera app.
I have tried a vareity of things, like emptying the camera and gallery cache. Restarting my phone. Reformatting the card again and again. To no avail.

It also will not let me download apps on the playstore either.

Yet when I put my old card back in, it's like everything is fine again (except not everything saves efficiently due to it being corrupted) with the camera, and it will still allow download of apps.

I don't want to do a factory reset on my phone to get this new card to work if at all avoidable. Does anyone have an alternative solution to make the card work?

Do you have your old card set as internal or external? Also where did you get the card from?

What size is your SD card? I own both Z981 and Z982. Neither of them will accept any card larger than 128GB. I ordered 2 cards from Amazon; a 128GB and a 256GB. I tried the 256GB card first; but it was not recognized. I then installed the 128GB and everything was smooth.

The Z982 explicitly states the 128GB limitation here (https://www.zteusa.com/blade-z-max)

but, the Z981 claims to support up to 256GB here (https://www.zteusa.com/zmaxpro).
