So I've seen a lot of complaints about 2.1. Many people even deliberately trading in their phones to go back to 1.5, or trying to avoid the update altogether. I realize the majority of voices in any forum are usually those that have issues. After all, if you're not having issues, why say anything. But those of us who have and love 2.1 should speak up about it, and maybe we'll give hope to those that have yet to get the update or those that are thinking about buying the Eris and may be scared away due to all the negative press on 2.1.

I personally have noticed nothing but improvements since going 2.1. My phone is faster, more stable, and I love all the new features and interface tweaks. The new market is great and I love the fact that I can install apps that were previously unavailable to Eris users.

I realize the Eris isn't perfect and I still experience a bit of hesitation and hiccups from the phone every now and then, but it's definitely better, and certainly no worse, then it was with 1.5.

Oh, and btw, I did a manual update from 1.5 and a factor reset on both my Eris and my wife's Eris. Neither one of us have had any issues. We've both had our phones since the release date back on November 6th, 2009.

Anyway, if you have and love 2.1, let everyone know.

Loving the 2.1 for sure. Before the OTA, I was running home instead of sense so the phone wouldn't lag as much. Now, after the 2.1 Sense seems to be smoking home so I am sticking with sense.

Zero dialer lag, zero keyboard lag... the only thing I have noticed is the market has been slightly slow since the 2.1 but I personally attribute that to server overload (remember, folks are having to DL their apps again after the OTA and factory reset...) Battery life seems to be the same (can't really tell yet because I can't put the phone down now. lol

I really like it. A few minor cases of power-on lag; a Google Voice FC last night (hopefully, the update released today will fix that). I don't like the fact that when I go into gmail from a notification it seems to actually open a message (this is random behavior - I haven't been able to figure out a pattern of when it will open a message or the list of messages.)

Otherwise, it's been solid, and I have my seven home screens back again.

I wish I could say I love it, but mine runs noticeably slower on 2.1, in general - keybaord, dialer, phone - just about everything. There's less free internal memory than before, I need to dump the cache more frequently than before, and the performance is just not as good as it was before the ota upgrade.

Did you factory reset after the OTA?

Did you do a factory reset? If not, you should. Is you did, there's something else going on that is probably not directly caused by 2.1. Hardware, an app, etc.
