Root HELP! Accidentally Wiped Internal Storage and OS on HTC ONE M8

EarlyMon relli appreciate it mate, i got it running by following the instructions from this thread, You are the STAR \m/. I ve done it downloading vemon ruu for m7 (http://venomroms.com/htc-one-m7/)... my phone is back on . how ever its still is "S-On" (not sure what does that mean in the boot loader) was wondering is that normal? as well as it says "tampered". very new to this rooting and custom RUU.

I am having difficulty changing themes from htc theme app, when ever i press download the message comes up (Your storage is not enough. Please delete some content to make some free space) where i have got 12 GB left:(

Another thing i cannot take screenshot or download any images from google. when ever i try to do it the message pops up (An Sd card is required tp download xxx.jpg), cannot copy image as well (SD card unavailable)

Screen shot message pop up (cant take screen shot due to limited storage space, or it isn't allowed by the app or your organisation). Is there any solutions to fix this problem. help me out if you can.

Thanks a lot mate relli appreciate it

OK - s-on is perfectly OK, it means that the bootloader still has encrypted security signature (s) required (on) to change certain partitions like your radio firmware.

The other problem I didn't recognize on your M7 but it's the same thing that hits the M8 sometimes.

Get Terminal Emulator and say this -

su

(wait for the superuser to grant rights, proceed when the prompt changes to the # sign and then say)

restorecon -v -R /data/media

If that doesn't work, repeat but instead say -

restorecon -v -R /data/media/0

(that's a zero at the end)

If the problem is keeping you from installing Terminal Emulator, do it from your pc - open a command window to the sdk-tools folder and say -

adb shell

And then input the commands shown above.

Let me know if that sorts it.

Hey @EarlyMon , i only come to give you thanks!!!, i follow the procedure that provide to Eric Chen, and it works !, I wanna Kiss You.. but i have girlfriend XD, so many thank you i was very scared by bricked my htc, fortunately i found this thread . i have a Htc m8(TELCEL) that convert to Dev Edition + root + S-OFF (whit super CID y MID change) , when i know that sense 7 not come until Android M arrive, i decide to install skydragon room, and everything ok, but i try to change to screen density twice .., i believe than my mistake was only give 15 minutes to root permission to de app , so the third try, don't boot (X_x) the phone was die, don't charge , don't power on, don't adb. don't usb detect. i leave to battery drain and after to read this empty thread (and others 20 more) i decide to do it! (1 weak after), some where i read "Don't try if your not sure what you're doing".
Thanks a lot ,
saludos desde Mexico!

I flash the open recovery + wipe and zip de room whitout restore apps data , full new installation. the hard part was to enter in htboot the key combo .. is a little confusing, i hope can help to anyone how this help me.
This came in while I was posting so I am just now seeing it.

So to get to recovery -

Hold volume down + power while powering on.

If it says FASTBOOT at the top, choose HBOOT from the menu - and from HBOOT, choose RECOVERY.

Some roms have the option to boot into recovery - from running phone, power menu, reboot - and you can choose to reboot to recovery (TWRP).

If your rom does not have this feature, you can add it, for example -

Check out "Power Menu"

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vasily.powermenu

OR

Check out "Reboot Menu Widget *ROOT*"

Hi, I had to make more space on phone storage on HTC one m8 on my so I transferred my pictures and videos to my sd card. Now my pictures and videos aren't working. I have done this before and it worked. Does anyone know how to recover them? My backup was somehow turned off so I don't have them backed up either and it is hundreds of pictures of my new baby which I really want. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It appears that your firmware (radios, etc) is pretty old, maybe close to original and so probably not compatible with the later roms.

Your phone ought to use the .707 firmware according to this thread -

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2696282

And your phone is s-on (default).

Your best bet is to check there on updating your firmware.

All the best!

Its great to have a place like this to come, especially if you run into problems doing all the crazy stuff we can do to and with our phones because we have programmers and testers working non stop on all kinds of stuff. and people like you helping people out. awesome community here. love it

Power reset your phone with volume up +power until it resets.

As soon as the screen goes dark, hold volume down until the bootloader appears.

Navigate to recovery, it may be under hboot if it came up in FASTBOOT mode.

(I can never remember which screen, it's kinda automatic for me, sorry.)
