Help Google Voice Update 0.3.4 (#13)

Google Voice update to 0.3.4 (#13) is available in the market -- I don't see a changelog. I'm still checking it out and don't see anything remarkably different-- Curious if anyone knows what the updates include.

One great new feature is that now in the notification pull down, it says who the SMS is from, instead of "1 Google Voice Message" like it used to.

Cool, good to know. I just have everything go thru handcent anyway.. Until the gv app gets some decent customization

Does it still dial out on a different number than my google voice number? The earlier versions dialed a local number based on location. I have Sprint @ Home setup for my GV number ($5 a month for unlimited calls to and from that number) so I had to manually dial them still?

the thing to do is set up your sprint to home # for the local number it calls.

That would be nice, but unfortunately its a location based service. So when you go to a different area the number changes. I'll keep doing it the way I am now I guess.

You sure about that? Pretty sure the local access number is based off your GV or your cell number, so either way, it shouldn't change when traveling to another area. Not 100% certain on that, but thought that was the case.

nope. your access number does not change when travelling. i was in alabama 2 weeks ago and it dialed it up just like i was in atlanta. if it did that it would have to change every time you went to a different area code. that would be a nightmare.

Well there ya go, zcarman, just use Sprint-to-home with the access number and you are good to go, unless you get a ton of incoming calls from land-lines during peak times.

Strange, in the Seattle area I've had 3 different numbers - a 206 area code in Seattle, a 425 area code at home in Everett and a 360 area code in Monroe at the office?

Anyone have any ideas why?

Nope but there are 3 area codes for atlanta and 2 for other areas of GA. i go to all of them all the time for work and mine never changes.

So, now if I changed the @home number to the dial out that I use the most, people calling in on my Google number won't be free... crap... This is just bound and determined to mess with me... lol
