Is the GSM version coming on the 6th too?

My phone just broke and now I really need a new one. I was already looking at getting a Droid. I was thinking I'd just get a Magic since they're fairly cheap but I'd rather get a Droid if it comes out on the 6th.

I'm in Australia and we don't have a CDMA network anymore (Telstra used to), anyway I need a GSM one. I saw the video of the GSM version but is it supposed to be released the same day as the CDMA Verison one?

EDIT: Comes out on the 9th in Germany and will be called the Motorola Milestone.

I believe the 6th is only a Verizon CDMA Droid release date. I don't expect it to be much longer for the GSM release, though. I think it was 3-4 weeks between CDMA and GSM submission for the FCC stamp of approval.

Hmm I guess so. It does look like a decent phone, I'm not sure about SE's new UI. You think the Sense UI will be able to be put on it?

It is possible (and likely) someone could port it over. HTC writes the Sense UI and put it on their own phones, so it is not likely to be done officially by HTC.

It sure is nice to have these options to choose from. :D

Apparently GSM version will be released in Germany on the 9th. If prices aren't astronomically high to have it shipped to Australia i think I'll get it.

DROID headed to Germany as Motorola MILESTONE (updated)

EDIT and apparently it will have the multi touch pinch feature in the internet browser.

You might be better off with the Italian version if you want a QWERTY keyboard (Germany uses QWERTZ). Italy is supposed to get the phone at the same time as Germany. If there is no UK release before Xmas, I'll be snapping up an Italian model myself.

Oh I did not know this, imagine if i bought it not realising :S
thanks for pointing this out lol, i dont understand why they wouldnt just use the same keyboard as us (cause ours is more widely used), it would make it easier for them and us.

Looks like im getting the italian version lol
