HELP! WHAT US BEITA-PLUG IN???

It has come with one of the apps you have installed. Anything you installed or updated shortly before it started is a suspect. There isn't just one app with this.

When you find it report the app to Google, as I'm sure this thing breaks play Store rules.

There's another recent thread on this, and in the later posts there people were naming apps they'd found it in.

Yes.vi figured that but I have 5 adware blockers and ad blockers etc. It got through all of them. I deleted about 10 apps. Seems to be gone. Hopefully.

Wow. No way!! O use Amazon way too much to delete. At least in Canada. I deleted Rosegal and some other similiar ones that I have no idea how they got here. I didnt even order anywhere. So that seemed to do it. I still have my Amazon apps. I use it too much too much. That damn WISH I think is the culprit. Its like a bad smell but no one knows where it came from. That started my madness. It attaches itself to everything.! I never shopped that either. Oh and TOPHATTER....RUN DONT WALK FROM THAT NIGHTMARE. thanks for your input though. Appreciate😊 it.

This frustrating virus or malware on my ph now that has no where to uninstall from. Looks like you can when I hit the weird shape on lower rgt hand corner but it disappears when I try to close it.
Help!!!! My oh is a Samsung 8.
Thank you

Same thing with my AT&T Samsung J3. Came from nowhere, unable to delete because not showing in Apps. I spotted tiny SmartScan icon when it blocked my phone, so went to Google Playstore, searched for Smart Scan, uninstalled, problem appears to be solved. Quelle nuisance! :0) Apparently, from the questions in this forum, it is downloaded in a number of apps. LOCK 'EM UP! ;)

I think it's rampant in more apps. I removed tons of apps and it was still running in the background. I don't have Amazong Shopping. I removed my NovaLauncher. So far so good, but I suspect TouchPal is the culprit.

One thing is for sure, Google Play needs to beef up it's procedures. I'm rooting my phone.

There's a few mentions of "Amazon Shopping" in this thread, which particular app are we referring to? Because there's a few by that name. FYI If the developer or publisher is stated as Amazon, then that's official and shouldn't have this Chinese BeiTa adware in it. If it's something else and NOT stated as Amazon, then that's unofficial or possibly tampered with...and so good luck, and best removed completely.

My infected app is "Smart Scan" which I believe I didn't install but for the sake of argument I still uninstalled the app and still it remains the pop Up's continued, it even interrupts my phone calls playing in the background of my calls. Anyhow is this targeting random application via plugin? And someone por favor(please) help me resolve this adware or malware whatever it may be.

Mine was Smart Scan too. What I did to get rid of it was wait for it to pop up and once it did i kept it open then uninstalled the app. As soon as I uninstalled the app I rebooted my phone and it has solved the problem. Good luck to you. I hope this helps.

Having read through a number of these posts it appears to me that this thing attaches to any number of existing applications possibly during an update or as part of the original install. I'm monitoring my own phone but it seems to have attached to a SmartScan app that was actually installed some months ago when I needed to scan something. I don't believe it is attached to a single app but is rather opportunistic and it uses apps that use plugins. Just my thoughts on the subject.

When you say "apps that use plugins" what exactly do you mean? I doubt it can piggy back on any app that uses plugins per se, more likely the app has a plugin capability and then that is used with the agreement of the app developer to run this plugin (either explicit agreement or because they let some ad company use it to feed whatever they think will pay).

I don't know, but something that could hijack apps would be very surprising, whereas something like I've described would be the sort of thing we've seen many times before.
