Just recently I was trying to upload a screenshot from the pc, a Dell Inspiron laptop, and I realized there was no (obvious) way to do that. I thought I looked pretty thoroughly, but I might have missed something. Since it's old and slow as molasses next month, I would like to figure out how to do that as painlessly as possible. Also, since the screenshot was taken with Firefox, shouldn't there be some way to look it up more easily than going to downloads under this pc? All I want to do is upload it to photos and then be able to download it to a better, faster device.

Yes, I just want to upload it to Google photos and be able to use it however wherever. I didn't know that it would take special software to do that. Is there a free version of photoshop or something similar that would work? I have used the print screen key but it's very slow and clunky, which is why I prefer the one in Firefox. The only thing is it can be pretty slow and clunky too, and sometimes it says something went haywire and I have to do it again. Also, it saves the shots to a download folder, but if I shut the pc down and come back later, they have mysteriously disappeared from there.

Windows PC usually have a dedicated button to take a screenshot, once you take the shot, use any photo editor like Photoshop to save the file to a folder of your choice then upload it to cloud or copy it somewhere else.

Was that what you are trying to do?

Yeh, it's the "Print Screen" key on the keyboard. And I believe Windows automatically saves to the My Pictures folders.

Where do I find my pictures? Is that under my pc? Once I do find it, how do I upload from there?

It depends on your version of Windows, but the above image should give you an idea about where it is.

Please note that not all Windows machines automatically save photos to that folder, but it's recommended to take a look at it.
