ive got one on the way for the silent audio bug. verizon rep at the store was nice and didnt ask many questions before she told me she would just have a replacement sent. ive got to send the old one back though
I got my refurb from Fedex yesterday afternoon... because of the "silent audio bug" - I'm not actually sure what that is, but neither was the rep I talked too.
Got a brand-new looking phone in better condition than the one I had... shipped with stock 1.5 that is now rooted and flashed with Ivan's ROM.

Overclocking, Apps2sd (if you want to use it), wired tethering, wireless tethering.. all the cool little tweaks that make life easier all built-in and working perfectly. Looks exactly like the 2.1v3 leak, which is only slightly different than the actual OTA.
I even flashed a newer radio and got all my bars back. w00t
I called. Told the lady the sound cut in-and-out sometimes. She walked me through a factory-reset and said to call back if it kept happening. I called back an hour later and they shipped me out a replacement the same afternoon.
Everyone I talked to was very cool about it. I think it was good timing too because they knew there was a release but they didn't really know anything about it. When the faithful tech support question of "did you turn it off and turn it back on" didn't work out... well, I knew I was "new" phone time.

I recieved my replacement yesterday. I was missing calls that I wasn't even being notified about. I was missing calls because I was getting a black screen and could not answer the phone and my text messaging app was closing all the time. Now I'm just sitting here thinking about rooting....
Mine was sporadic as well. They called my phone about 15 times until it didn't ring. i also had two texts come in while I was in the store and they had no sound either
I called customer service the Wednesday before last, explained the silent call bug, and explained the steps I had taken to troubleshoot (hard reset, no apps). They sent a replacement out 2-day FedEx (with 1.5 on it), and the replacement has worked correctly for 9 days so far... *still crossing my fingers*

Came with 1.5, and I took the OTA. Incidentally, I always had problems with 1.5 on my old phone (which is why I was eager to get 2.1 in the first place), and I noticed that 1.5 ran much better on the replacement phone. That speaks to Frisco's theory: Good 1.5 = Good 2.1 and Bad 1.5 = Bad 2.1.
Mine will be in on Wednesday. Question is, do people with rooted ROMs experience the call bugs? I plan to root right away in hopes that the problem doesn't come up.

Yes i was rooted and had the issue. I unrooted, went back to stock, took it to the store and still had the issues. That's when they called the phone 15 times in the store until it didn't ring on an incoming call and sent me a replacement. I rooted as soon as i got the replacement and haven't had the problem since

Well, I will keep the phone I have for at least a week or so in order to test out the replacement. They say you have 10 days, but they didn't charge my bill until 2 months later last time I got a replacement phone. Even then, they allowed me to send it back and credited my account.
I got mine for the main reason being that proximity sensor just didn't work 50% of the time, no matter how clean it was.
I'd try to do voicemail, couldn't type in passwords, etc. without waving my hand in front of the damn sensor.
A few issues I didn't mention that would have contributed were
-dialer lag
-1 or 2 missed calls with no ring or notification
-50% without signal
-etc...
Anyway, I obviously rooted (even after seeing the system update notification), now I am on VanillaDroidv1, totally gutted of sense, dialer replaced with nubdialer, etc...it's fast and less buggy.
JIT + OC (If I can figure out if the OC patch work) + no sense (even in the background) = smooth & fast...Just what I always wanted out of my Eris.
