Without doing anything like real work and actually doing a count, I think 2018 was not nearly as fatal as 2017.

But that's all in the past. Here's hoping this 2019 thread is short and boring.

Here in SoCal we were stunned and saddened by the untimely death of Chris Burrous, a funny, beloved morning news anchor and reporter for channel 5, KTLA. He was only 43.

Unfortunately, there's much sleazy speculation surrounding the circumstances of his death--which I won't repeat here out of respect. I will say that until the coroner has completed the autopsy results, and the police have wrapped up their investigation, no one knows what happened, or why.

He was so funny, often coming this close to being called into "the principal's office" for his mischief. He did a regular weekly segment called "Burrous' Bites" where he'd meet up with a viewer to check out the hole-in-the-wall restaurant they'd recommended; this was very popular, and now people are scrambling to find comprehensive lists of all his stops.

Ive watched some of his Buro's Bites over time! it made me wish i could be in the area to check out the local eateries. Yup he reportedly before the principals office for sure. i can imagine a huge turnout for the services. Last time i missed and felt the untimely death of a tv/radio personality was Kid Craddock.

The circumstances certainly were ready-made hash for speculation, which of course stomps all over the fact that the untimely loss of any life is tragic and felt deeply by those close to the deceased.

Exactly. I've said over and over on Twitter that, A) NO ONE knows right now how/what caused his death and, B) NO ONE knows what he may have been dealing with in his personal life, such as depression, addiction, illness, etc.
