I hope Congress probe results in hefty and substantial fines making them compensate every customer

Or a total cease and desist on the practice, plus heavy consequences.. this makes digital sketchiness/wrong doings/unlawful tracking easier for the wrong ppl as well

They've always told you but it's in that 2 point fine print nobody reads. Perfectly legal.
Has anyone tried challenging the legality of that? Certainly where I am courts have overturned licence conditions on the grounds that it's unreasonable to expect people to have read and understood the whole thing before agreeing (with the result that some firms will waive conditions rather than risk a challenge which could invalidate them for everyone).

Finally they got called out and made a public comment that they have stopped! i still say we deserve royalties from what was sold
Royalties, no. But I EASILY see all of us as members of the class-action lawsuits that will surely follow.

Once such lawsuits are initiated, you're automatically included if you bought/used their product/service during the timeframe laid out in its lawsuit.

Over the years, I've been a member of 10+ class-action lawsuits without ever initiating anything myself; I was always given the option to opt-out.

Good point. And at the rate they're constantly throwing in fees , rate hikes and outrageous prices for a new phone these days Id join the class action suit in a minute. its a shame consumers are taken this way. I mean theres no such thing as a "deal" or promo anymore to keep a loyal customer, instead, they sell our info and location.

i BET you that's where all these spam calls are coming from on my phone. EVERYDAY calls i don't know, don't have in my contacts and they fill my missed calls list because i will not answer numbers i don't know
