Last year I stumbled upon a channel in the 300s [on DirecTV], where I rarely go--and fell in love with it. It's called AXSTV and is on channel 340.
Its programming is amazing, filled with interviews, concerts, and documentaries about significant musicians, past and present. On Saturdays they'll do a 'stack'--one group/musician all day. I could barely contain myself when they did Freddie Mercury and Queen. I even saw one of their concerts I'd somehow never seen before, Queen: Hungarian Rhapsody--Live in Budapest from their 1986 Magic tour, which was awesome.
The Big Interview with Dan Rather is consistently interesting, even when I don't particularly care about the interviewee. His interviews with Ringo Starr, Joan Baez, Rod Stewart, Brian Setzer and other favorite artists of mine were really informative and fun.
The Day the Rock Star Died runs down the person's career and death. Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Tom Petty, David Bowie are just a few.
Rock Legends has music industry people discussing one band or musician's career: Dire Straits, REM, Blondie, and tons more.
So, if you're a music lover you might want to take a look!
