How to get the 'updates' if htc is not from any specific carries

Guys,

My HTC Legend is not from any specific carrier, I have been reading through forums and found out that some updates regarding the camera and other functions are available.

When I go to settings and check for updates, nothing comes. There must be some other way except the root option to install updates.

Any help

What version are you currently running? If you've got a SIM free phone then you should have no problem picking up the updates, assuming you're not already running the latest version.

Correct, I too have a unbranded/unlocked Legend.

The day I got it, I checked for software updates and managed to download the latest version.

Just a note that I have used the built-in feature for update check and it always tell me no updates available.

I will post the software and rom version after checking

Believe it should be: 1.31.405.4

That seems to be the latest version for Asia.

I got this phone in India a month back and here is what I got:

F/w: 2.1
Baseband:47.26.35.04U_7.05.35.26L
Kernel:2.6.29-e3993620 htc-kernel@and18-2 #1
Build: 1.32.720.2 CL155118 release-keys
S/w: 1.32.720.2

This, it seems, is the latest version and I did not run the update before today. I just ran it and it said that there were no new updates.

I wonder what the word is on Froyo wrt us?
