They're ruining phones. Can they just make 'this' perfect phone please?

Sure, no bezels is nice. A phone that's 6 inches is smaller than older 5.5 inch and almost all screen is beautiful, but I do not understand their obsession with bezels. Just make them smaller. That's it. I HATE these holes and notches. Watching a video or playing a game with a hole on the screen is supposed to be good? I seen an upcoming samsung phone that has the front selfie camera pull up. It's cool, but unnecessary. No one asked for any of this.

I don't understand the obsession with tall narrow phones.

I don't understand the obsession with glass.
I don't understand the obsession with huge phones.

Give me this phone:
Flagship processor and ram.
Small bezels. No holes or notches.
A good camera. I don't need a ground breaking camera. I don't want to be a photographer.
4 to 5 inches.
No glass.
Amoled display.
Sd card slot.
Headphone jack.
Most importantly, give me a phone, with top of the notch calling experience.

Is this too much to ask for?

yeah i also like glass, but i do love me some big screen. my note 8 has no bezel. i don't think i will ever go back to a smaller phone.

Count me in too. Though I don't care about AMOLED vs LED as long as the quality is good (I've used both, and reckon that both have pros and cons).

There is a semi-practical reason for glass. It's non-conductive and doesn't interfere with rf transmissions like metal, but like metal, it's perceived by consumers as a premium material. a $1k plastic phone just wouldn't fly.

agreed, it was the main reason why i never got a samsung s1, s2, or s3(?) as they were all plastic and felt cheap to me. i do like a little weight in my hand for a device

To which the answer is "don't charge $1k". I'd be fine with that .

In all seriousness, I remember thinking a few months back that I'd much prefer something like an updated HTC One X (polycarbonate) to another glass sandwich. If you have to wrap a case round it before you dare pick it up then it doesn't matter how "premium" the glass looks.

The thing with those is that they used particularly thin and flimsy plastic, especially for the backs. You can make a solid-feeling plastic phone. But those early Samsungs were not it.

(Actually with my HTC Desire, contemporary of the original Galaxy S, I stuck a piece of folded paper between the battery and the back to stop it flexing - a trick that dated back to the Motorola L7089 I'd owned in the late 90s).

I should have also noted that. Glass is ok and beautiful if made durable. I really loved sony phones cuz I thought they were the most beautiful. Super sleek and stylish. I still have the xperia xz premium and minus the huge bezels is the best looking phone I've ever seen. I've dropped it way too many times and it never cracked. It's still in top shape. I had a galaxy s8 and dropped it 2 inches and the top corner was smashed. Why have some beautiful glass or buy some "sleek" and "beautiful" phone if u just have to put an ugly case on it?

Give me the sony xperia xz premium with flagship specs, thin bezels, oled display, head phone jack, sd card slot that's 5 inches and I'm sold!

Lemme also add that I prefer flat screens.

You cannot truly make glass durable. Whether it breaks in a drop depends on the glass, the phone design and how exactly it lands, but if the XZ didn't break after many drops then that was in part down to luck.

The S8's curved edges and corners do make it more vulnerable. But glass front and back will always be a risk.

Not this phone. It's not luck. Sony phones have been very durable. The glass is thick. Like a mug. Extremely well built. I never needed a case for it. I can't speak for their new ones. If you breath on the s8 it breaks. It smashed and cracked a few times. There were times were I was like "where the heck did this come from?" I wound up getting the s9 and putting a case on it. I'm not saying I'm careless with phones. Sure, any will mash if you're not careful or fling it across the room.

There are glass phones very durable.
