Themes?

Have been concerned about possible burn in of the nav bar.
Added a theme to my V40 today;
Black theme for LG V40 V35 G7 , developed by Nguyen Ngoc Giap.
It's one step closer to an all dark/ black look to my phone.

Also downloaded the Samsung Internet Browser to be able to use the
High Contrast Mode. I certainly wish that Google would add a dark mode to their apps.

I guess I should see what firefox has - never looked. Chrome surprising doesn't and nor does it follow system themes like you'd think it would.

However - where did you read about screen burn in issues. This is an OLED Screen and as long as they occasionally turn off - (which it would do when in your pocket, placed face down etc) then there is no burn in issue.

What can happen is burn out - in that using the same piece of the panel all the time vs other spaces can over time become dimmer than those around it. Now that I've seen. it takes years to do and often high intensity outputs. It's the reason the AOD moves to a few different spots with every cycle.

but it's not about burn in.

(I reviewed one of their apps saying it was the cause of a glitch in Android. They deleted the review 3 times. When I removed accusatory statement, the review stayed)

Can't say anything bad about some of the mega companies. They control what you do when you're in their area of influence. Look at FB these days.

Yes I can. They still do inexcusable things. I can't stop them, but I can still criticize things like this:
238 Google Play apps with >440 million installs made phones nearly unusable

As I've gotten older, I guess I've become less afraid of rocking the boat. ;)

Well at least all Google did was remove your "Negative" reviews.

I questioned something over on FB and got barred from using it for 30 days. These big tech companies have their own ways of pushing their narrative.
I think that stinks. If Google cancelled my account, it would certainly interefere with my modus operandi, but I could manage. I certainly wouldn't want that to happen, but it wouldn't keep me quiet. I guess with all the things that I've had happen in my life, my definition of what's important has drastically changed. (Sorry for tone of this post, just a weird night)

Dark mode, night mode, yes basically the same. Individual apps have been allowing dark/night modes which only control their apps. Themeing apps are geared to theme a particular device at the system level. It's looking like Android itself is making it more difficult with nav bar/status bar variables.
It will be interesting to see how Android "Q" handles it.
