One of my other cookie i have to limit myself are Pecan Sandies and Nutter Butters :p
Oh, dear. I hear you on the Pecan Sandies. (Nutter Butters I can take or leave.) I wonder if Sandies are vegan like Oreos. I haven't bought them since I was still vegetarian, so I don't know.

It's probably just as well, since I can easily down ⅔ of a package of those, too.

I open a chip bag, once I like to eat the entire thing in two sittings, I am a foodie and a candy junkie, trying to cut all the way back.

Perhaps I'm weird but I never was a big Oreo fan. Hydrox was more my medicine of choice.
You know what? Hydrox always sounded medicinal to me.

Also, I don't know if there was a regional element at play, or what, but I don't remember Hydrox from childhood, just Oreos. The first I really recall of them was when I lived in the south.
I make a killer chocolate chip cookie that I can't say no to. I made them often when my children were young.
You're a good parent, making yummy cookies for the kids. :)

Do you have your own recipe?
Now that they have left the nest, once or twice a winter I bake some.
I would make them more often but can't quit eating them. The answer is to not make them.
I understand... but wait! How about baking a double batch, keeping some for yourself, and taking the rest to the nearest homeless shelter, abused women and children's shelter, soup kitchen, etc.? Win-win all around! :D

Don't get me started on chips! I mean that literally--much like Double Stuf Oreos, once I dive in to a new bag of chips, watch out! (That's why I'm not buying chips right now either.)

Ditto...

The chocolate has a hint of salt to it... making it more intense in my opinion. I ate both as a child but preferred Hydrox. They are near impossible to find around these parts nowadays.

My CC cookies don't vary much from other recipes. I use Bakers Best chips and Crisco shortening vs butter. I use two eggs vs one and the key ingredient is real vanilla from Mexico. I remove them from the oven when they are still very soft. I eat them until I'm near ill. :)
