Edge Lighting, LED on Camera Cut Out

What's wrong with using a third party app?

I don't have an S10, so can't answer the actual question, but know that there are solutions out there. Therefore wondering why you are excluding them?

I'm not ruling them out entirely. I just thought I would see if there is a solution with the stock apps before downloading a third party application.

Previous Samsung phones had an LED light which would flash if/when there was a notification. This would enable the user to see they had a notification of some description without even touching the phone. The "Edge Lighting" feature doesn't work for all apps - including popular apps like Whatsapp. The Edge Lighting feature also only shows up once, and not repeatedly like the old LED used to. Samsung allowed users to use the camera cut out as an LED notification, but again, this doesn't work with certain apps and also doesn't last until the notification has been dealt with.

Is it? first time I've seen of it.

If you Google "Samsung Galaxy S10 LED", you will see it has been omitted. It's been left out due to the edge lighting, which is a cool feature but doesn't work as efficiently as the old LED and only flashes once on the compatible apps, as mentioned above. If you miss the flash, you are none the wiser about your notifcation.

Probably not, which explains the rise in 3rd party apps that do this.

One of the best of them is here...

Thank you. There are plenty of them about. I'm just not sure which to trust or try first!
