Help How to stop PDF from downloading

I got a notification of a PDF being sent by someone - it was mostly in Russian, so I tapped it and then selected "remove" from the menu. However, from the display, it looked like it was continuing to download and other than closing Drive, nothing I did stopped it.

In case this happens again, is there any way I can stop the download in its tracks? Can I set it not to open PDFs unless I approve?

Thanks!

Could be spam or scam or something. If you really want to know what it says, you can copy and paste the Russian text into Google Translate.

If you can block the sender or not, all depends on whatever it you're using, like was it email, website, messaging, etc.

I assume it was spam, since there's no reason for anyone to expect I speak Russian. It wasn't an email, though. I swiped down from the top to see what kind of notifications I had (they're usually only emails or updates), but this was at the bottom, it had a triangle symbol next to it. Once I realized it was not going to stop, I closed it, so I never saw the text of the PDF, only the sender and a brief line of text, so no way for me to translate it, even if I wanted to.

you should never click on something like that. was the message from an app? where did you see this message? from your browser? email app? text?

Yes, I should have known better! I had just swiped down from the top to see what notifications I had; they're mostly emails or updates, but this wasn't either of those. It had a triangle symbol next to it. For some stupid reason, I didn't think anything malicious could be spread via a PDF, but probably some hacker is clever enough to do that.

TOTALLY DOABLE via PDF, ISIS was certainly using/propagating that method to compromise, hack, and actually find some of their victims.. Also, many ppl and Carriers were pwnd via the Samsung extensions in some websites.Plz be careful in future.
