I'm a graduate student and have been using IOS for a long time. Recently, I just got my first Android device, while I was surprised to find out that Android could do thousands of things more than Apple. So I'm coming here to know more about making full use of my new device.

The play store is your best choice for any app. You can install and uninstall at any time, so if you feel an app is not to your liking, just uninstall it.
For full customization, I recommend nova launcher, from icons to home screen. Icon packs are needed to change them also. There's also widgets and widget creators for any given app. Have fun and try it out
