Spotify on Lockscreen with Face Unlock

It appears that if you want to unlock your Pixel 4 with facial recognition (which I'm sure most people do), you can't have Spotify artwork and the notification that allows you to skip songs on the lock screen. If you turn off skip lock screen, the notification and artwork show up. However, your phone doesn't automatically skip the lock screen so you have to swipe to unlock. Looking for a way to have it skip the lock screen but also show Spotify on the lock screen.

You and me both. :(

You've found the only option that I've come across - disabling the "Skip lock screen" option to restore the ability to interact with media playback notifications on the lock screen also adds an additional step to unlocking the device. Sure, you can use the Motion Sense gestures to skip forward/back, but there's no easy way to pause from the lock screen.

Not ideal.

Please please please join me in using Settings > About phone > Send feedback about this device to let the developers know that this is a step backwards and needs to be corrected.

This is such a giant step backwards in functionality that I truly can't understand why it wasn't mentioned in more reviews - but let's waste paragraph upon paragraph on how you can unlock your P4 even with your eyes closed (you know, completely unlike every phone with a fingerprint sensor....).

I don't think any new feature or functionality arrives without unintended consequences. It's just a matter of getting them identified and if necessary, fixed.
