Weather widget says I'm in Bizovac (Croatia)?

I think I've read before on these forums that sometimes the weather widget gets false location data, but this is the first time its happened to me.

I've been refreshing the weather data a lot and it still thinks I'm in Bizovac. I had to google Bizovac because I had no idea where that is. Apparently, its a small Croatian town.

Maybe I should be honored that they think I'm Croatian. =).

Anyhow, is there a way to fix it?

I've tried turning the phone on and off and then refreshing the weather data. Bizovac is still there. Tomorrow I'll be driving to work so I will be on a different tower by then. Hopefully, that will fix it.

When I first read it I got kind of excited and I thought it said "Bivouac" which is a Jawbreaker album.

I'm on the 2.1 OTA.

Well...

You never said you're NOT in Bizovac...

Are you?

Haha. Nope. I live in California. I'd like to go to Europe though! Send me some plane tickets and I'll visit!

Anyways, I kept refreshing it and its back to normal now it seems. My actual location showed up again.

I wonder how the widget gets this false location data. Is it something the tower gives off? or just some bug in the widget itself?

Zerethusta, You live in Bellingham? This punk band called Shook Ones is from there. I dig them for sure.

You must have gone through an area where the tower broadcast the wrong data. Check out mine:

I just want to chime in to report similar problems in Tustin, California, USA. Whenever my wife and I are in the city of Tustin, our Droid Eris phones show that we are in Xuzhou, Jiangsu, China. That is shown as the "current location" in the HTC clock app, HTC weather app, and Google Maps. And the time on the phone (including the clock in the Verizon notification bar) jumps 16 hours ahead of our local time, to coincide with the local time in Xuzhou. This happens with or without GPS enabled.

I noticed a pattern, though. Check out the latitude and longitude pairs for the two cities:

Tustin, CA, USA = 34
