EasyMoney Personal Money Manager (Updates & Announcements)

I know there is no direct sync ability at this time, but I wanted to know if say I exported from quicken to csv then imported it to easymoney to start. Then as I add transactions I exported them to the PC then pulled them back into quicken. And just repeated the process.

Would this work? I know when I sync with my bank I tell it pulls a CSV file that has the entire month even when I don't need it and quicken does not create duplicates in this case. I would try it but do not have an android phone yet to test with.

First of can I say fantastic application.

A couple of suggestions to make the application even better:

Recurring Transactions/Bills

More flexible specification of recurring period. Example ability to have a transaction to occur on the First/Second/Third/Fouth/Fith (if there is one) occurance of a day of the month. (Third Monday of the month for example) or my other example. Is the Last Wednesday of the month for payrol purposes.

Allow a recurring transaction to span a period. Ie to specify an end date after which a transaction will not occur.

Ability to modify a single instance of a recurring transaction once it's date has occured. Example: Transaction occurs 20th of every month from January 2010 for

This is the BEST app personal finance app to date! I've been using SplashMoney on the Iphone and this surely beats that.

I love the UI, ease/quickness of adding transactions, transfer.

However, can add function to display past, current, AND future transactions in one view without having to click 'Change Period' to see the past, or the future? And have ability to set a 'Default View'

Sometimes I schedule a payment in advance, and the display doesn't show this unless I click "Change Period" to see next month's transactions, then change back, and forth and back.

Hi,

I have been following this topic for EasyMoney for a while hoping that they would be able to develop a mobile sync option with Desktop Quicken to the Android phone as I know they are considering it.

Another potential solution is switching from Quicken to another desktop app called MoneyDance which just released an iPhone App that does a sync. The developers have mentioned they are considering creating an Android version as well.

So whoever can get a mobile solution to sync with a desktop app will win alot of new customers, including me :)

I'd like to actually move all my transactions and accounts from quicken (4 years worth) and import it into EasyMoney (a one time irreversable transfer). Can this be done via an account by account export (to csv) and import into EasyMoney?

I believe I have reached the point where accessing my accounts solely from my handheld is possible. The one problem I see is that EasyMoney does not yet support split transactions (right?) and so I cannot attempt an import until such time it does. Are there any plans for split transactions soon?

Hi everyone,

EZ Money Manager version 1.4.5 has just been published to the Android Market.

Updates Include:

-Improved backup file management with the option to automatically purge old backup files. Daily automatic backup has also been turned on by default. To enable/disable automatic backup creation or deletion, go to Accounts Overview-> MENU-> Database Tools-> Auto-Backup Settings.

-Fixed bug introduced in v1.4.0 which affects creation of repeating reminders belonging to sub-categories. All previously missing bill reminders will now appear with category = 'Others'. Please delete or recategorize them accordingly. (v1.4.4)

You can set default reporting period to All Time in Accounts Overview ->MENU->Settings->Display Settings->Short Term Reports

I've download the trial version, but can't use the REPEAT function.

I made a transaction on Feb. 11, and wanted to repeat 11 times per month, just on Mar.11, Apr.11...till Jan.11/2011. But it just repeat the first one on Mar.11.

How do I set the option? or it will fixed automatically in full version?

Besides, if account could have different types like asset, liability or credit card, the app will be better.

A repeating transaction will repeat forever. To have them repeat before their occurrence dates, you need to change the Show Repeating Transaction X Days in advance setting under Accounts Overview->MENU->Settings->Display Settings to maybe 60 or 90 days?

What kind of features would you like to see for the different accounts?

As long as you follow the format below, it should be fine.
CSV File Format for EasyMoney

We are working on split transactions but it will not be ready so soon.

I been thinking about this, and I know that you are hesitant to deal with the nightmare/pitfalls of syncing to banks but what I might suggest is there is a standard that MOST use. Now if you add the ability to connect to any bank for an account and sync where we the users have to add the proper information like IP, port, passwords and what not this might give many of us alot of what we want and not add the hassle for you of trying to configure the app for every bank out there. The format is OFX

OFX Home

GNU cash, an open source finance application uses this and here is a guide for configuring their application for it.
OFX Direct Connect Bank Settings - GnuCash

The first link has a forum for developers and you likely could get some good information on what it takes to add this functionality to your application.

As mentioned in an earlier post will it be possible to incorporate the following features:

1. Option to select which accounts are included in the overall balance
2. Ability to order the accounts in the account overview section
3. Ability to select which accounts are shown in the widget.
4. Ability to have a export all option

Really enjoying the program and it's great to see the developers engaging with its users

Cheers

EasyMoney Team
Many thanks Roland.
The second I receive my Samsung i9000 Galaxy S your application will be the first App installed.
I will then be very happy to liaise with you on any findings I come across and any recommendations.

Appreciate your dedication to customer support.... something which is lacking with a lot of Developers these days. :)

Is QIF export still in the works? If so, any idea on the update release date? I need a program like this and this one seems like the closest thing since I switched to Android. I was using Cash Organizer on Windows Mobile and it synced perfectly with MS Money. It doesn't seem like I'm going to get that option with Android so I'm at least holding out for QIF export in whatever program I use.

Thanks
Jason
