Stock Messaging - Green LED Notification ?

Anybody know why my green LED stopped blinking all of a sudden? I just got 2 texts (stock messaging app) but my light is not blinking anymore. I see the notification on the top of my screen, but no light.

???

Oh, the light isn't broken as it still lights up w/ emails.

turn your screen off and it should start blinking again. Since the update to 2.1 the led lights dont blink with the screen on

Maybe I got two texts while the screen was lit but didn't notice until it went dark - I'll have to watch it more closesly - thank you.
